A hint about how unbiased this "documentary" will be taken from the article:

"Wintemute, a nationally recognized expert on gun violence and director of UC Davis' Violence Prevention Research Program,...

"Gun Fight," by two-time Academy Award-winning filmmaker Barbara Kopple, delves into the controversy surrounding gun sales and gun violence in the country, using the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre as the starting point.

The documentary follows the work of Colin Goddard, who was shot four times by Seung-Hui Cho on April 16, 2007, and has since joined the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence.

Oh, I'll bet this really shows both sides of the issue in a fair light.

[QUOTE who="Article"]Wintem ute advocates for background checks for every gun purchase and record-keeping for every gun nationwide.
All good dictators would do the same if they allowed gun possession.

The Virginia Tech shooter (CHO) passed a background check. Record-keeping for guns or gun purchases should be illegal, to protect the people from our govt (our worst enemy).

Liar. Legal gun commerce has long been highly impaired. Gun prices are much higher because of existing gun control laws.

And crime (safety) is always the excuse for govt to destroy RIGHTS.

A straw purchase is when a buyer who will pass a background check purchases a gun from a licensed firearms dealer on behalf of a prohibited person.
It's impossible to prevent all people from acquiring guns IN A FREE SOCIETY, and that's the way it should be. Gun control laws create the gun blackmarket. Everytime a person reaches the age of twenty-one, he or she becomes eligible to legally buy guns. The supply of straw purchasers is infinite.

As a member of the NRA it is pretty frustrating to see any reasonable idea thrown out the window just because it deals with "firearm restrictions."
