There are 2 comments on the The Reporter story from Dec 9, 2010, titled Solano Economic Development Corp. learns about 'going green'. In it, The Reporter reports that:

In his book "The Lorax," Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss, wrote, "Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,/Nothing is going to get better./It's not." Volunteers Needed To Bring More Green Technology To Solano County!

Join activists. Revamp how government spends money creating jobs. Volunteering with us part time might help you find a good full time job.

Does Solano County have great potential? Solano has many world inventions but still doesn’t match nearby Napa wine innovators. Solano needs to brand itself like Napa, then could charge enough for wine to being innovating on much cheaper farm land. Unpretentious Solano houses with big yards go from $80K. Houses from the 1800’s on charming Suisun harbor, or the hills cost much more. Highways I-80, 680 and 12 make Solano County capital of Fairfield maybe 20 min from Concord, 30 from Berkeley, 7 min Napa. Reverse commute times driving times

We focus on fixing government, especially economic development programs. Help fix Solano County’s seven cities Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville, and Vallejo. Solano Economic Development is becoming more cost. The ultimate goal is creating more Solano job openings, reducing crime, and making Solano the friendly place to live and work like it was in past years.
