HOMOSEXUAL IMPULSES AND OTHER UNGODLY TRAITS
The Bible, God’s revelation to us, depicts two groups, virgins, that claim to be His in Matthew Chap 25. One group has oil in their lamps, Holy Spirit, the others don’t. One group represents overcomers, the other group claims to be His, but are not.
King David , in Psalm 51 stated “ I was shapen in iniquity, in sin did my mother conceive me”. That is the nature of man’s condition when born into this world. We have inherited hearts that are averse to the heart of our heavenly father. Then we furthermore fall under the influence of others of like condition and of various ungodly practices in our daily experiences. Of all these associations we form our habits and personalities. We become a composite of inherited and cultivated influences.“There is none righteous, no not one, for all have come short of the glory of God”. Rom.3:10.
We are not to trust the impulses, habits and urges of the flesh, but St. Paul tells us in Romans seven that there is a law in our members that wants dominance wants to retain control over us, even when we strive to do right against urges and habits. When we are baptized into Christ and wish to repent of these things, we enter the “race that is set before us” Paul says (1Cor. 9:24, Heb 12:1, 2Tim. 4:7). As we seek to follow the direction and correction given in God’s word, the natural heart, is always ready to overtake us and retain dominance. But God says “Where sin abounds, grace much more abounds”. Rom. 5:20. He says in John 1:12,“As many as received Him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God”.(If we weren’t God’s sons before, then whose sons we’re we?) We don’t need power to be forgiven, but we very often need power to overcome the inclinations of the natural heart. We “come boldly before the throne of grace to receive mercy and grace to help in time of need” Heb 1:16.
The world tells us to follow our hearts, but God tells us to follow His heart.“Let this mind be in you that was in Christ Jesus”. And “Lean not to your own understanding, but in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths”. When we try to take our natural born impulses and insist that we are right to follow through practicing it’s demands, and claim to be Christians, then we make a God of our own contrivance, another Jesus and another Gospel, and are surely deceived. And when we take pleasure in those (support or encourage) that do such things against which God has clearly condemned, we condemn ourselves. We are to trust God for direction, not ourselves. We surrender to His “Way, truth, and life”. We die to self daily, and take up our cross; that which crosses the affections of the natural heart, and walk in the path of righteousness that He lays out for us. By His direction and power we give up our life and take on His life. It’s a life for a life.“ He that overcometh shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be my son” Rev 21:7. Get in the race. The door of mercy won’t be open forever.

Then they have effectively cut themselves off from the Church. We can't change God's order for society to accommodate the impulses of a corrupt lower nature. When we do we contrive a false God. God calls us to follow His heart as revealed in the scriptures, not our hearts as the world teaches. Sensual gratification outside the parameters of God's revealed will excludes us from His eternal kingdom. If we are to presume that God allows us to alter His ways, then How can we trust Him in confidence. The truth become mixed with error and chaos ensues. God is a God of order. We are called to distrust self and trust His way, truth and life.

Always with the threats. How else to keep people in the flock from questioning and reasoning? Have you proven your god exists?

You say we are to distrust ourselves yet we are to trust others, is that it? How do you know the bible is the word of a god? because you trust someone else telling you it is. Lean not unto your own understanding, but lean on the understanding of the other guy who is admonished to lean not unto his own understanding. No solid footing there.
Yours is a very slippery religion.

That's what the Roman Catholic Church said to Galileo. It took the RCC more than 300 years to say, "Oops ! Nevermind."

We are entering an age where some christians are realizing how homosexuality is not a sin for a gay christian, only fo rthose under th eold covenant of leviticus, those who are not under th egrace of Jesus. jesus gives the male and female energy and role to the two of the same gender, within a marriage. you dont have to be a man and a woman to be in love or marry. thats the regular way,its not the only way. God gives the female aura to one of the two gay christian mariage partners, while one stays male aurically, while both remain male physically. vice versa with lesbians christians. Its not that hard to understand, and it succeeds the old Leviticus ban on homosexuality, which is not outdated but applies to being a sin only for those still under the Law,that is,those not christians. a gay christian married to another gay christian is the only acceptable kind of homosexuality to God. because it becomes male and female energies combined.

Ordaining gays worked so well for ELCA and TEC that PCUSA has to try the apostacy too. I guess they weren't losing members and congregations fast enough before. This should help them along.

I'm ELCA and ELCA has not lost that many congregations and members over it. They do publish the figures, and it is less than 1/2%.

And if they want to leave over it, I say "Fine."

That's what I say as well. Besides, the church is better off without the bigots and homophobes.

EXACTLY !

I personally know an openly gay male ELCA pastor, who pastors a church, and he is married to a man.
