That IS the million dollar question.

Are transgendered individuals harmless, or do they suffer from a psychiatric disorder which could lead to irrational harmful behavior?

Medical science simply doesn't know.

Until then, I'll err on the side of caution.

Have you ever met a transgendered person? I have. Born a female, he simply believed he should have been born male. He was just like every other male I knew, except for the obvious. I don't know whatever happened to him, he moved away, but I highly doubt he became a serial killer, or whatever.

They're obviously mentally insane.

I've met a few; they seemed normal enough.

Of course I worked on a psychiatric ward for a year and most of them seemed normal enough too.

To me someone claiming they are really a man but born in a female's body sounds as ludicrous as someone saying they are really a alien from the planet Zippo. I view both claims with skepticism.

And I view both as none of my business.

Seriously, the world would be a better place if we minded our own business!

So would you trust one with your children? Or with a gun?

See how things can quickly become your business??

Seriously, the world is a much smaller place now that there are over 7 billion of us.

Your right to own a gun can quickly result in the death of innocent people.

That's equivalent to saying I shouldn't own a gun due to PMS. You never know what a woman is going to do, right?

The man next door might very well look like a man, act like a man, dress like a man and be the BTK killer, meanwhile you are looking at a woman in a business suit.

Only if that woman thinks she's Genghis Khan reincarnated.

That's why everyone is suspect until proven otherwise.

No, you are suspecting everyone, just people who aren't your idea of normal.

BTK, if I remember correctly was a decon of a church. Ted Bundy was charming and completely trustworthy. Actually the only dangerous person I can think of that looked dangerous was Charles Manson and he didn't physically kill anyone.
