I'm a student at WSCC and am older than most students there. I started with some remedial classes to refresh my memory. The teachers were all wonderful and I never felt "behind". I graduate from the nursing program this semester. If you are thinking about a college that's affordable...consider Walters State Community College.

Congratulations and best wishes! Although it is almost certain we will get the bashers on here because some of the posters cannot see any good in anything, WSCC is one of the best things that ever happened to this community. Since it opened about 40 years ago, it has continued to provide and inspire education and life improvement in this area, along with so many other benefits from the operation of its local and expanding campuses. Thank you for such a positive and very meaningful message!

That is so true! Getting my RN degree is life changing and I'll get to help the community in more than one way! I'll be volunteering whenever I can to help the people that can't afford medical insurance. That was the main reason I became an RN. I planned on working part-time and volunteering the rest of the time. So many people in our area need help. Many nurses are truly in it because they care and not just for the money.(this area doesn't pay RN's that great anyway. LOL) Bless you both! Thank you!!!

WSCC is a great start for a college education. We are encouraging our kids to attend there two years before moving onto a University setting. Much closer to home, cheaper per semester hour, and gives one a good look at seeing if college is really for them. I finally finished my B.A.A. in December from ETSU, but WSCC gave me the courage to go on finally finish my degree.

As a former student of WSCC, I can honestly say that it is definitely one of the best community colleges! I now attend a graduate school in another state after completing my pre-requisites at WSCC and have paid attention to the community colleges there. They have nothing to offer like WSCC! The people in the area don't know how good of a school WSCC really is. We also are encouraging our children to begin their college education at WSCC before moving on to a university. They will get that opportunity since Greeneville High offers courses at the campus across the street while attending the high school as well. It's a great education for a whole lot less than you would pay at a 4-year college. Definitely worth looking into!!

I went to Walters State for one day. They actually required homework and stuff. I mean, what kind of crap is that. I thought since I was paying them that they should give me the degree.
I dropped out and I love my job at McDonalds.

Daily Horoscope for January 7

Sagittarius

If you have any worries or problems today, a close colleague could have the answers you seek. Work will be satisfying, and anything to do with children should be very rewarding today. There could be friction with a relative, but it's nothing serious and things will sort themselves out in due course. Again, you must pay attention to your health, Saggitarius: skin infections are a strong possibility at the moment.
