For most of my life I have been proud to be a citizen of Treutlen County but after reading some of these posts, I am ashamed to consider myself a member of "this society". Most of you are quick to point fingers and blame instead of researching to find the truth. I have witnessed many desolute things in Treutlen County over the past ten years and I need to get them off my chest. Ok, so we have a black probate judge. Get OVER IT! While I may not agree with all that he does, I voted for him because he has helped me everytime I needed him to. As for the "let the ones who pay taxes talk" person, well I pay taxes! Many of them...so here I go. There is much corruption in government, local and above, but if we as "taxpaying" citizens do nothing but complain, guess what? NOTHING HAPPENS. I believe that Tommy Corbin was a decent God faring man when he was elected, but as most politicians, he has strayed. As for those of you who criticize Wayne Hooks for his actions, LEARN YOUR FACTS!! Wayne Hooks was a great Sheriff, and while I didnt agree with what he done on a personal level, he was perhaps the best Sheriff we have ever had. As for him beating Steven Tanner, well, let me say....If Steven Tanner had raced through town in a high speed chase and ran over an innocent child in doing so, the entire town would want him crucified. On the other hand, Ryan Griner is at just as much fault if not more than Wayne. And FYI, why can't someone on here celebrate the good citizens of Treutlen County that stand behind the scenes for years and never get recognized? Frank Radford, Jack Sweat, WAYNE SUMNER, Clayton Stephens, and so many more. Why hasn't there been a park named after them? Because we are too busy complaining about every other person that simply does not matter anyway. If you don't like the job a person is doing, run against them and do it yourself. Sure, we all have faults. How much pull does a local Sheriff or County Commisioner have anyway? Vote them out. TREUTLEN COUNTY...you decide what happens here. We control it and guess what....we are at fault when we fail. Personally, if you check out a locally elected offical's employees to determine their character you will find out more than you want to know about that official. When you entertain a public office, your employees should abide by certain privacy acts. This is not being done here folks
T.J. is a wonderful person and Judge. Thank you for putting your input into this. Wayne Hooks was the best sheriff that town has ever seen. Now look what they have? Tommy Corbin???? What happened to make these people think he would be a good sheriff the first time. He's a bully and only out for what he can get for himself.
Thanks again.

Alot of people end up in jail over misunderstandings. More then what you realize. Some end up in jail because Tommy just didn't like the way the looked? Now what do you have to say to that. People make mistakes and do committ crimes, but they are sill human beings and should'nt be treated like they are animals or worse? Get a clue?

Unless the law has changed, you have to charge someone with a crime before they can be put in jail, and the last time I checked, BEING UGLY was not a crime!

I don't think your one vote would've helped him. And what experience does he have? There were only 2 candidates with experience in the race.

Who wants Tommys experience ? Sometimes a fresh start is best. Every one wants to hollar experience, experience, but look what that got us with tommy. A sheriff who represents certian crowds not treutlen county. Tommy's previous experience as deputy did not make him a sheriff.

Are you saying that Tommy didn't learn ANYTHING under Wayne Hooks??? You're kidding, right? Then what about his previous experience as a US Marshall??? Since Luke can't be sheriff, Tommy is the only one left with any kind of experience. Neither of them would have to wait several months before they could have arrest powers.

who needs experience, even the state of GA does not require previous experience for the office of sheriff, and as far as tommy's experience with the us marshalls, that really sounds good, BUT HE ONLY HAULED PRISONERS FOR THE MARSHALLS! WOW!!!!!!! As far as working for wayne hooks he only worked part time,WOW!!! He worked with treutlen boot camp full time. MAN I CANT BELIEVE ALL OF THAT EXPERIENCE! He had no experience of being a sheriff when he got the office. Yes law enforcement experience is an important part of the job, but being a sheriff is more than just a part time job and a position that makes your head swell. Its a sad day in our county when the people elected such a stuck up clown as sheriff.

Experience is experience; the bottom line is that only one has it. And that's the truth. Check the stats in the newspaper. Oh, that's right; only one candidate could answer the questions.

yeah questions that were prepared for him or by him.and the stats in the paper don't show who really made the arrests and busts that he's taking credit for.michael milton, jason mccoy and some of the others deserve the credit!

as a matter of fact he probably does watch cops.if i'm not mistaking someone on the sheriff's dept has been watching too much cops, because every time they are on duty the theme songs seems to be played over the radio.seems pretty childish to me.maybe thats what it takes them to feel manly.

You must work for the news paper, having first hand knowledge of what is going to be in the paper next week, Little Dink.
