I am sure the Obamatrons will think this is a terrible idea. Why because Bush came up with it. I think it is a bad idea because these fools that took adjustable rate loans are now paying the price. To bad.

Your syntax is horrible. Are you an illegal alien? I think fluency in English should be a requirement of all wishing to seek citizenship. Furthermore, literacy tests should be given to those who wish to vote. We wouldn't be in this mess if "non-educated whites" hadn't voted Bush in twice! As far as the bail-out for corporate bigwigs, I thought that government intervention "is the first step to socialism". Well, that's what Bush said about SCHIP, anyway. All these banking CEO's saw incredible bonuses as a result of the real estate explosion. Let them use those bonuses to pay off their own mess. Bush is a liar and a hypocrite. We can't afford to bail out needy children from poor and lower income families, but we can afford to bail out greedy middle-aged and well-dressed ones. If you or I make irresponsible financial decisions, WE DON'T GET A BAIL OUT! Why should these weasels? No bailouts force these jerks to refinance the terms on the mortgages they extended. No more 28% interest rate just because they feel like it. Cut an 8% fixed like you were supposed to. Hell, with how desperate these toads are, we might see them cut 5% fixed rates! The market would yet again correct itself! However, these corrupt bankers will see no incentive to change their ways if the government keeps tossing them Greenspan Puts. Bush is a disaster and mindless zombie southerners want four more years of it. I'm telling you: make a Bachelor's degree the minimum requirement for voting privileges! Also, someone out Limbaugh as a homo so we can all go home already. When was the conservative draped with a confederate flag? Weren't southerners Democrats up until the other day? Didn't they try and secede from the these United States? How did Republicans get from Gary Cooper to Toby Keith? Leave educated "elitists" the vote for elected office. Rednecks can take the vote for the next American Idol.

What are you dense? it was the Sen. Dodds and Reid that kicked the door down in the white house telling Bush that he had to bail them out.

Bush was sitting on his hands, thinking that the free market is just going through it's course and shuoldn't be interfered with esp. for a government backed company.

Only when officals and experts kicked the damn door and Bush's head and told him if he didn't do anything than he was going to be the next Herbert Hoover if he didn't move his ass.

You hail from Texas. You don't know the first thing about proper grammar and sentence structure. I'll be more than happy to demonstrate this to you. You're first sentence is a clear display of your lack of formal education. You began it with a preposition. Secondly, you changed persons in mid-sentence (third to second). Thirdly, you have a run-on sentence. Listen, return the computer to whatever store you stole it from, go back to your trailer, imbibe yourself into a state of oblivion and then pull the trigger to end the misery that is your life. I would ask you to read through my writings again to verify my lack of grammar. However, seeing as you employed the use of the word "tard" at the end, you probably don't have much more than a ninth grade education. Stick to American Idol forums. If you aren't going to kill yourself, then grant humanity the one favor of never leaving the confines of your trailer park (and especially to vote). Thank you.

To spend this much time concerned about a previous posters grammar just makes yourself look like an internet "noob". If you wish to have an affect on peoples opinions attempt to perhaps get over their bad grammar and compose a less than "figjam" response to the legible contents of their post.

Thanks :)

Wow conservatives so is this your idea of letting the free market decide in business?

Where is your outrage about gov involvement in business now?

Bailing out large corporations owned by wealthy white republicans with our tax dollars - pathetic.

Lets see now - first bear stern gets a $30 billion welfare check in one week paid for by US tax payers and now this. Gee who is next.

So lets hear it conservatives. You guys get outraged when a tax dollar goes to help a single parent in need, but you are strangely silent when it comes to bailing out wealthy white guys.

Shouldnt you be saying these guys need to pull themselves up by the boot straps and STOP EXPECTING GOVERNMENT TO BAIL THEM OUT!

Is this not the famous conservative mantra?

So just take the thought that you guys are all about "doing it on your own" and shove. You guys are pathetic and just a big bunch of moochers.

So stop telling everyone to just work hard and do it on your own.

You cant deny now that when the republicans screw up their business THEY EXPECT THE US GOVERNMENT (US THE TAXPAYERS) TO BAIL THEM OUT.

Again you guys, for all your talk, are just pathetic moochers.

I think you conservatives could benefit from hearing from other in the world tribe. You guys spend so much time telling everyone how great you are. Now look again - your guy bush is giving out another multi-billion dollar welfare check to his buddies using our tax dollars.

I thought conservatives do it on their own?

I find it quite interesting that Bush, who stated his opposition to and intention to veto any bill that will help individual homeowners who are facing foreclosure is once again backing yet another multi billion dollar bail out of his corporate buddies.

And the hits just keep on coming!

Perfectly Legal: The Covert Campaign to Rig our Tax System to Benefit the Super Rich- and Cheat Everyone Else

One of the country's top investigative reporters reveals how the richest people within the top 1 percent of the country has rigged the tax code and other laws in its favor.
Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter David Cay Johnston has been breaking pieces of this story on the front page of The New York Times for nine years, work for which one business school professor calls him ìthe de facto chief tax enforcement officer of the United Statesî. With Perfectly Legal, he puts the whole shocking narrative together in a way that will stir up media attention and make readers angry about the state of our country. Bush’s 2005 Inauguration Celebration:
Brought to You by Corporate America
http://tinyurl.com/yp779w
An analysis of Bush’s Presidential Inaugural Committee records reveals that $17.1 million, or 96
percent, of the $17.8 million raised so far came from corporations or their senior executives,
including two corporations that effectively skirted the $250,000 cap on contributions by giving
multiple checks through subsidiaries. The analysis also shows that these same special interests
are the ones that played a leading role in funding Bush’s campaigns—nearly half of the
contributors to the inaugural belong to, or employ, an elite class of Bush fundraisers known as “Rangers,”“Pioneers” and “Super Rangers.

THE CONSERVATIVE NANNY STATE
How the Wealthy Use the Government to Stay Rich and Get Richer
By Dean Baker / http://tinyurl.com/e7gyr
This book is written in frustration and hope. People in the United States who consider themselves progressive must be frustrated over the extent to which conservative political ideologies have managed to dominate public debate about economic policy in the last quarter century. Even when progressives have won important political battles, such as the defeat of efforts to privatize Social Security, they have done so largely without a coherent ideology; rather, this success rested on the public’s recognition that it stood to lose its retirement security with this “reform.” It also helped that the public was suspicious of the motives of the proponents of Social Security privatization. However, success in the goal-line defense of the country’s most important social program is not the same thing as a forward looking agenda.

The key flaw in the stance that most progressives have taken on economic issues is that they have accepted a framing whereby conservatives are assumed to support market outcomes, while progressives want to rely on the government. This framing leads progressives to futilely lash out against markets, rather than examining the factors that lead to undesirable market outcomes. The market is just a tool, and in fact a very useful one. It makes no more sense to lash out against markets than to lash out against the wheel.

The reality is that conservatives have been quite actively using the power of the government to shape market outcomes in ways that redistribute income upward. However, conservatives have been clever enough to not own up to their role in this process, pretending all along that everything is just the natural working of the market. And, progressives have been foolish enough to go along with this view.

The frustration with this futile debate, where conservatives like markets and progressives like government, is the driving force behind this book, along with the hope that new thinking is possible. We shall see. http://www.conservativenannystate.org/cns.htm...
