Young Mr. Chancelor is not only an extraordinary athlete he is an extraordinary young man. Coach Dodge will build a seriously competetive program at UNT. His Dawg committments are both aces. Team mates again will be Chancelor and Byrd. The Cove connection will be in the works for the Mean Green. Coach Doges's offensive line recruits will do to run the river with and his kid will do very well at the college level calling the signals for the Green. My my my there may be a new world heard from in the college ranks of Texas football. A few years back these guys were pretty fair but have not done well for a few seasons. Look for that to change. Goog luck in Denton fellows.

You know, what lots of people don't understand is it is not the size of the college , status of the college, division (1,2,3) of the college that counts for these students to go attend. It's the "right" fit for the college and the student that counts. Some think Brelan and Byrd should go to "bigger" colleges. Why? This is their choice and they feel the fit is right. I bet they have enjoyable careers there. Go Dawgs!!!

I went with Brandon and his Dad along with another young man who had a great visit at Hardin Simmons on the way to Lubbock and Texas Tech. Brandon was courted by several division I shools and elected to go to a class Div I school in Denton. Indeed UNT doesn't have the fame that many of the so called premium D I's have but its a fine school that plays some of the best (Alabama ain't small potatoes). Brandon fell in love with the academics, the quality of the coaching staff as well as the facilities. Brandon Byrd is the type of young man you've got to keep a eye on in our neighborhood. If you don't watch him carefully he'll be sneeking across the street and cut your lawn on a hot Summer simply because he doesn't think Mr. Bill or Miss Georgia should have to cut their own lawn. What an extraordinary what a credit to our community young men of his caliber are.

Well spoken and I am proud to have played in a program that produces lots of quality kids. Of course the Byrds are quality people regardless but the Cove program under our coaches demands discipline, with the players saying yes sir-no sir and acting right.
