Not sure if it's accurate, but in some sex ed classes BJs and anal are given as alternatives to intercourse to prevent pregnancy.

It's accurate. They will definitely prevent pregnancy. They won't, however, protect against sexually-transmitted disease.

This is just plain false.
Bullshit. In the US, sex is only cursorily mentioned. The mechanics are mostly pregnancy and social pressures.
Even mentioning secondary forms of sex gets you fired.
In some adult sex ed classes (more workshops), this may be the case, but in mainstream US High School and Junior High, intercourse is put on a pedestal.
Any suggestion of contraception methods is limited at best, and the big deal for preventing pregnancy/STIs is Abstinence.
