I am a deacon at the First Presbyterian Church here in San Marcos. First people need to know that God loves them just as they are and that he has a plan for their lives. That they are precious in his sight and that they have great potential. Parents need to encourage their children the way that the children are growing, such as by the interests they have.

We as a community need to find out what children want to do and be as adults and create an environment for them to succeed. We need to expect them to advance in school with the support of their parents and the community. People need to ask themselves, "How can I make this a better community?"

Send out a general survey and ask San Marcans what kinds of industries could we invite into our community that fit the aptitudes of our citizens. Then there would be more interest and involvement, because more people would benefit.
