Try to imagine Corpus Christi without a Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. I, for one, dona t want to contemplate the city without a four-year public university, but there was such a time.

growing town? You gotta be kidding. I came here 20 yrs. ago from a small town out West. This was a college town, had a Naval Base, it looked awesome compared to my small hometown back home. I'd write to everyone back home and brag about Kingsville. 20 yrs. later, the only growth KIngsville has had is CVS opened up, Walgreens, Lowes (which was a big thing when we heard they were gonna open one). Denny's was once, then it closed. Long John's closed, Papa John's closed. Kingsville has stayed so far behind. Meanwhile, my small hometown back home has grown almost as big as Corpus. So much for this college town.

LOL, I have been here since 1982, yeah most of you all were not even born yet. Back then the Navy Base and Texas A&M (A&I back then) was ALL this town had. This place has GROWN BIG TIME trust me, I have watched it grow. I think we have slowed down though and need to bring more bigger buisness to this town. I see housing developements where vacant land has always been. What would really set this town OFF would be anthoer OUTLET MALL, better than the one years ago, like the one in the valley. we need bigger and better resturants, chiles is getting old already..A nice Steakhouse would be cool, like outback, the roadhouse or something like that. We need MORE entertainment, and i don't mean more hoodrat clubs like day and night, the ranch and rax, we got enough Ghettoness to last a life time. We need REAL Night Clubs.

So how do you people of Kingsville and Corpus Christi, TX feel about all that jet noise controversy surrounding Naval Air Station Oceana and the debate among Chesapeake City Council members whether or not more houses should be built around Naval Auxillory Landing Field Fentress!?
