The poor economy has done little to slow the growth in the number of state workers making more than $100,000 a year, state records show.

Can you give specifics on this? 20 year plus top paid Correction Officers make about $60.000 base pay after their current contract and there is not nearly enough overtime to support this claim. Those with less time on the job make much less. Maybe you're speaking of and/or including administration officials, which would make your claim quite dishonest.
Are you at all concerned with the amount spent yearly on programs, housing, exorbitant diets, mental meds, monthly aids testing due to homosexual activities within the prison, and frivolous health and legal fees for felons?
Why is cour concern only with tearing down those who abide by laws and earn their pay?

Because co's are lazy asses with far too many benefits and should be replaced by private prisons

Really? What do you do for a living? Do you work holidays, weekends and expose yourself/family to every disease known to man? This in addition to having to drive downstate for up to 5 years or more, where you are not a "local" so your days off and shift get changed every 2 weeks, making it difficult to swap for time off to go back home and try to have a normal family life? Get real.
