Sad news, but a reality in many places. Corporate funeral giants are partly to blame, reducing pay to a level much lower than should be. It is a tough field and I say that as an insider. The death rate is declining as well, a drastic difference from what many mortuary colleges claimed would be happening. We will continue to see more of these closings.
