What are you kidding me? A few drinks? We all make mistakes, but how many drinks does it take to kill 3 people and injure 2 and drive away not knowing. Im not saying he is a bad person, but its people like that who make really bad judgement that make the world a scary place....

Your the loooooser. What if it happened to you are your child? Yes it is a very sad thing that happened, he was wrong but Iam sure you are not an angel everyone makes bad judgements, and I'am sure you made a few. So do not judge when you do not know the person. I do.

I live in Louisiana but I do not know any of the parties involved but wanted to share my opinion. Yes he did make a terrible mistake and yes his mistake has affected 5 families, 3 of which will never see their children again. Now I have lost a close friend to a speeding drunk driver and also have been on the way home from going out and watch people racing down the street and flip in front of my face. Now you can look at this one of two ways. If you were the boy who hit the kids family or if you are the ones who will never see their love ones again. I drink and I choose no matter what not to drink and drive and if I was to ever need a driver i know plenty of people who will come out of their way to get me. If you choose to drink and drive and kill someone I do believe in punishment, you cant expect to be set free and live your life when you ended 3 others. I do not believe you should be in jail forever but you should have to go to MADD meetings and tell you story and listen to others and community groups against drinking forever. If you do something like this maybe you can atleast stop someone else from making the same discision. My prayers go out to all the families involved. I do pray also that people would quit calling people names and fighting through comments bc that never helps the situation at all and everyone has an opinion and I think if its a horrible one then keep it to yourself.

WOW! I actually felt a little bad for this kid who chose to drink and drive, which was followed by a horrible tragedy! But, he has just pled NOT GUILTY to vehicular homicide....has anyone ever looked up the definition of vehicular homicide, it has "Derek Quebedeaux" written beside it! This is not how you show regret for your actions...this is also not the way to give closure to the families of the people you killed by making an irresponsible decision. Take the punishment for your actions!

I heard about this accident while I was away in Atlanta. Every news station via radio or television had it on. I thought to myself God, that poor guy. I don't know the kid but no amount of money would make me want to be in his shoes. ZERO! He has to live with this for the rest of his life. I would probably just save everyone the time and effort and just commit suicide. I also think the response from Brittany from Denham Springs was mostly fair and honest. I am glad she never has drank and driven. I have when I was young and stupid. Hell, we all did, every single person I know. We were untouchable and bullet proof. One high school student was killed by a drunk driver. He was her boyfriend. He has suffered and did not go to jail, but he paid dearly in other ways. This is a no win situation for everyone and they are still in my prayers. It could have been me a few years back. Thank God I have finally outgrown doing stupid stuff, risking lives for the thrill and that includes the waterways, like skiing drunk with a boat full of drunk friends. Talk about blessed. There are no remedies to fix this and the memories last forever. God bless to all the families and everyone else, THINK before you drive!
