"Leaders said the decision stemmed from a desire to move forward the 'national conversation' on same-sex marriage after 30 years of study by the church ...
"Contrary to what National Cathedral leaders say about their congregations acceptance and encouragement of same-sex weddings, Mr. Harmon said, across the country the Episcopal Church has 'leadership that's gone on an aggressive campaign using intimidation, money and lawsuits to silence anyone' who disagrees.
"'Its governance by the arbitrary. Theres no meaningful theology underneath it,' he said.'All it does is reinforce why we need to leave, and thats very sad.'"
