Prayers for Vermont Guard

Major Mike Papariello of South Burlington speaks to the congregation at St. Michael's College Chapel during Monday's mass to pray for members of the Vermont National Guard and their families as they prepare for their deployment to Afghanistan.

A person does not have to like the war but if you are an American, you do support those who are protecting us. If that does not satisfy you, move to one of those countries and live the way they do. I am sure those people do not like living like that either. I am an American and I support and pray for the safe return of our soldiers.

I have to read about the war sober and slowly to not forget it is Afghanistian and not Vietnam. Don't worry the troops are well trained and most could have gotten out by now so they know what they are getting in for. I am speaking first hand as I got out in 2003 after over 30 years. As one reservist in my unit Remember freedom of speech for dummy's is one of the things we are protecting.

As a lover of your country,from the old England across the pond, I am absololutely disgusted at the comments from Rattle cattle in this forum.Both your troops and ours are fighting side by side to try and make the world a safer place in which to live,not just for us but for our children.I treat those comments with distain and contempt and would shelter them from a young recently married girl in our family who was diagnosed with leukiemia on the same day her husband was blown up in Afghanistan,losing his legs.Support your troops they are our saviours.
