If Congress, bureaucrats and the president can earmark a strong moral referendum on our schools, homes and churches, hear how a pastor and a deacon can work together to improve the moral of the community and neighborhoods. Do Christians buy less online pornography than non-believers? The Associated Baptist Press reports on a recent study suggesting "no"—except, that is, on Sundays. Harvard Business School professor Benjamin Edelman took the zip codes of subscribers to a top-ten porn seller and analyzed the geographical distribution. He says that subscription rates in regions where more people report regularly attending religious services aren't "statistically significantly different" from subscriptions elsewhere. In fact, subscriptions are actually more prevalent in states that have passed conservative legislation on sexuality, as well as in states where more survey respondents agreed with statements like "I never doubt the existence of God" and "I have old-fashioned values about family and marriage." An interesting (or depressing) wrinkle is that, in regions of higher church attendance, a smaller proportion of porn subscriptions begin on Sundays. "This analysis suggests that, on the whole, those who attend religious services shift their consumption of adult entertainment to other days of the week, despite on average consuming the same amount of adult entertainment as others," says Edelman. So what to make of this study? For one thing, I would note that the criteria of "attending religious services" is not restricted to Christian places of worship. Still, those must be the overwhelming majority. It's safe to say, then, that the church has a long way to go in terms of sexual purity. As the study shows, a lot of that has to do with how people compartmentalize their lives, living one way on Sunday and another the rest of the week. And it's easier than ever these days to go where you shouldn't; Leadership editor Skye Jethani relays here how, thanks to the Internet, now "every city is Sin City." The need is great. What are your churches doing to address lust and pornography? Our pastor at Church Of The Redeemer said that "I would rather sugarcoat political factions on the inside than play the Rush Limbaugh game in the courts" and it may sound facetious but he has a good point.

THE IMPORTANCE OF FAMILY IN OUR TURBULENT TIMES:
The Parenting Forum provides a safe community for Christian moms and dads to share experiences, offer advice and give encouragement to others; you can even request input from our licensed counselors. You know that out in the world, you get all walks of life. Love at home is the rudiments of how to content with the vissicissitudes of public life. Learning begins at home on the moral level but on the scholastic level, the elementary school. To be honest, all of our family are good at home but I have gotten calls from the school principal and the police of my granddaughters starting fights in school and beating up other girls and they have been kicked out of several schools for fighting and assaulting a lady teacher and using a stapler as a weapon. One of my granddaughters said to me "the most fun thing in school is getting into rumbles and I like using my fists". The good thing is that she can make money on a career as a boxer. I told her that she has good talent for starting a career: Boxing. As a grandparent, I can say that I am glad that my granddaughters and grandsons will be graduating this June. Thank God! I can relax in peace. Good thing that I stayed away from cigarettes otherwise, I would be smoking one after the other. The stress of dealing with the world would make me light up. It has been years since that I had my last cigarette and I have been clean for over 23 years.
