I will never forget my first and only opportunity to meet Brant Shallenburger. He was the attorney for the Petitioner. The Petitioner, Crystal Hall, was Petitioning for a VPO on behalf of herself and her five children. I was Pro Se, representing myself. After Shallenburger presented his witnesses (of whom all four admitted to only knowing hearsay) and his case, I was prepared to present my defense. Judge Dean denied me that right, priviledge and enjoyment.

Judge Dean ruled "LACK OF EVIDENCE. CASE DISMISSED!"

At one point Judge Dean even told the children's JD attornery, Leslie Ellis-Kissinger, to "SHUT UP! and SIT DOWN! You have no dog in this fight. You did not enter an appearence and do not represent the children in this matter."

This was our first ever hearing with Judge Dean. It became evident that he would enforce the law, not politics or a personal agenda. There were three hearings that October 5th, 2006 day. The VPO, the CM and a JD hearing. The VPO was dismissed that day for lack of evidence.(And EXPUNGED on January 18, 2008). The CM was dismissed on April 18, 2007. The JD was DISOLVED and DISMISSED on May 30, 2007 and closed and sealed December 4, 2007.

I have to say, the cross examination of Mr. Shallenburger's witnesses that day was an enjoyment. One witness testified I had followed the children in my car from a OKDHS visit. When I asked if she had seen it, Crystal Hall said, "They told me you had." When I asked who told her, Shallenberger jumped to his feet and yelled, "Objection, Your Honor. Hearsay!" Judge Dean ruled, "Sustained, move on Mr. Hall." Oh, the look on Shallenberger's face when he realized he had just disqualified his own client as only knowing hearsay. It was soooo much FUN!

I wish the best for Mr. Shallenberger's future. May he never get another client that commits perjury, provides false information or has incompetant and corrupt advocates.
