Race Rating Change: GOP Victory In Virginia Likely

There are 22 comments on the Spencer New Leader story from Oct 30, 2009, titled Race Rating Change: GOP Victory In Virginia Likely. In it, Spencer New Leader reports that:

But McDonnell-Deeds II is looking like a blowout, not a nailbiter. The momentum has shifted so strongly to McDonnell in the waning days of the campaign that CQ Politics is re-rating the Virginia governor's race as "Likely Republican," supplanting the "Leans Republican" rating that had anticipated a close race.

Yo, bingo - stuff it! Just because the South couldn't continue the effort doesn't mean we were defeated. Besides, it really doen't matter now that we're the United States of Obama. Stay tuned...next week he'll proclaim himself dictator for life and demand we call him "Beloved Leader".

Some Elephants seem to have forgotten the past 8 years--Both here in VA and in DC under Bush--

I will compare Virginia’s record of prosperity, progress, Being voted the most business-friendly state, maintaining a AAA rating in this economy and being voted the Best-Managed State again this year against any state in this Union—-
Yet you know little to nothing about either candidate, claim to have the interest of this Nation at heart, and then support the GOP candidate and post any link or half-truth to bash Dem. Candidate Deeds. All this with the record this State has achieved during 8 years of Dem Govenors—

Following last week’s endorsement from The Washington Post, Creigh has now won the endorsements of major newspapers from every corner of Virginia — including BOTH of Bob McDonnell’s hometown newspapers.

The Roanoke Times wrote that,“Creigh Deeds is the best candidate for the job.“ Observing he has “the guts to tell Virginians the truth,“ the paper noted that “He is better prepared to position Virginia to meet the challenges of the future… From energy development to education, Deeds demonstrates a clearer understanding of the issues and specific plans to work to better Virginia’s response.“

And after endorsing Bob McDonnell four years ago, this year The Virginian-Pilot threw its weight behind Creigh Deeds. Calling his “a compelling voice,“ the paper noted that Creigh “has a commendable record of moderate progressivism that the state needs to break loose from the turmoil of the recession.“

Bob McDonnell is using deceptive advertising to distract voters from the important differences highlighted by these papers. He has spent well over $6 million on Deceptive Ads since the primary.

Yep, Virginia, who the democrats just last quarter were bragging about "turning blue" looks like it's going to be a republican SWEEP for the first time in 12 years.

Watch the down ballot races. People can split their votes, but it looks like they're not going to.

The mealy mouth liberal media wants to make you think it is an "anti incumbent" wave out there, but the REPUBLICAN INCUMBENTS are leading by DOUBLE DIGITS...

That's not an anti incumbent wave, THAT'S AN ANTI DEMOCRAT wave...

FISCAL CONSERVATIVISM is alive and well in the nation.

No one wants an "Obama lite" person. The nation wants JOBS.

52% of the nation now says AGAIN that we're off on the wrong track.

Did you guys know that democrats across the nation are already LOSING ELECTIONS?

Yep. The MSM doesn't want you to know that.

Yeeeeeeeeeep. Wouldn't know that, would you?

October 13th.

Albuquerque Mayoral position, held by a democrat for the last 28 years is now held by a republican.

Tennessee, Republican Marsh won a state house seat that was held by a democrat with 56% of the vote, against “Ty Cobb” with HUGE name recognition, not only a famous baseball name, but also from his BROTHER, who HELD that seat PREVIOUSLY.

Oklahoma house seat held by democrats since 1965 was taken over by Russ, a republican, in a district dominated by democrats with a 2 TO 1 margin!

2 TO 1 DEMOCRAT MARGIN, and a REPUBLICAN WON IT!

The democrats have ALSO lost state house seats in DELEWARE, TEXAS, NEW HAMPSHIRE AND VIRGINIA.

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142405274 ...

And the democrats who lost? They said the HC issue was the biggest reason they lost. Yep, that's what the candidates were hearing out there.

But doncha love the MSM flacks trying to say "no, this isn't about national issues. It's about local issues."

Obama mindlessly pushing his way into the most intimate part of your life, your doctor's office, IT DOESN'T GET MORE LOCAL THAN THAT!

Meanwhile, we're losing 1/2 a mil jobs a month, and obama's message? "Get used to it, we're going to lose more."

Great message, huh?

And horror of horrors, the INDEPEDNETS are flocking to the REPUBLICANS with fiscally conservative messages.

Messages about JOBS, economic prosperity, tax cuts, etc.

And the democrats are horrified and petrified about Virginia. That's why Obama has run away and is already out there blaming the candidate.

That's ALSO why he's desperate to save Corzine in NJ in a MASSIVE BLUE STATE, but the democrats are barely hanging on by a thread.

Obama is desperate to stop the message that is about to come out of these elections.

Virginia isn't looking like just the usual flip, this is looking like a LAND SLIDE SWEEP.

And that my friends, is a MANDATE. It is a full scale smack down of the democrats.

People who were polled, 1/3rd don't know enough about the candidates to form an favorable or unfavorable...BUT THEY STILL PREFER THE REPUBLICANS.

They don't CARE who the republican is, THEY JUST DON'T WANT A DEMOCRAT.

Pretty strong message there, doncha think?

I've been saying, watch the DOWN BALLOT polling. people can SPLIT their votes, so that will tell you more about what's going on than just the top. But, this is really gonna suck for the democrats out there:

THE GOP LEADS ON DOWN BALLOTS IN RICHMOND, VA POLLING ALSO...

http://www2.timesdispatch.com/rtd/news/state_...
The Times-Dispatch Poll shows Bolling ahead of Jody Wagner, 47 percent to 34 percent, with 19 percent undecided. Bolling's lead is unchanged from an earlier poll for the newspaper.

Cuccinelli is favored over Stephen C. Shannon, 46 percent to 32 percent, with 22 percent undecided. Cuccinelli has doubled his lead from early October.
That's a GOP person seeking RE ELECTION, and the GOP PERSON is WAY AHEAD of the Democrat challenger.

That's not an ANTI INCUMBENT push as the MSM and blathering liberal columnists are trying to paint for people.....THAT IS AN ANTI DEMOCRAT push....

(very big grin) Sucks to be a democrat these days.... huh?

Deja Vu? All the red flags there, just like 1993? Before the massive beat down the democrats got in 1994, that it took a DECADE to recover from?
The findings, paired with the results of separate polls that put Bob McDonnell in front of Democrat R. Creigh Deeds for governor, could portend the first Republican sweep in 12 years.
A republican SWEEP. Not an anti incumbent push, an ANTI DEMOCRAT push.

This is not a Virginia "jinx" flip, this is shaping up to be a LAND SLIDE.

You know what is REALLY funny? Oh this is going to really suck for you dems:
In both races, however, about one-third of respondents could not offer an opinion of the candidates -- a sign they are not widely known even in the final hours of the campaign.
Now, understand, VOTERS don't EVEN KNOW enough about the candidates to offer a favorable or UNfavorable...ok?
Even with roughly one in five undecided for lieutenant governor and attorney general, voters in most regions favor Republicans.
Buuuuuuuuuut.....THEY FAVOR THE REPUBLICANS OVER ANY DEMOCRATS!

They don't even CARE who the republican is, they just DON'T WANT A DEMOCRAT .....

That is some major anger out there...that is a HUGE anger wave.....and democrats were bragging about Virginia turning 'blue' just last quarter...

Of course, will the democrats arrogantly pooh pooh the message like they did in 1993 only to watch their party go through a wholesale slaughter like in 1994?

Wonder how they'll mealy mouth THIS loss huh? Like they're mealy mouthing the 1994 slaughter? "Well, it's because we didn't pass reform."

NO IT WASN'T. The nation didn't WANT what you were doing. So they DUMPED you from the house MAJORITY for the first time in 40 years!

So, do you think the mealy mouthing liberals will call this land slide sweep a "mandate" election? Hmmmmm?
GOP candidates also show surprising strength with traditional Democratic constituencies, women and young voters -- an indication that Virginia Democrats, despite a string of victories since 2001, are struggling to energize their base.
Wagner, a WOMAN isn't even pulling female democrats, they're neck and neck. WAGNER and Boling, the republican, are NECK AND NECK in NORTHERN VIRGINIA in a HEAVILY DEMOCRATIC AREA.

Do you UNDERSTAND how much TROUBLE you democrats are in?

YOU'RE NOT EVEN PULLING YOUR OWN PARTY. Not even the WOMEN.

RE: NJ Corzine?

Ohhhhhhh, this is gonna really suck for the liberals again...

1.5 million registered democrats
1.2 million UNAFFILIATED voters
1.0 million republicans

UNAFFILIATED VOTERS, breaking 52% FOR THE REPUBLICAN, 28% for Corzine.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh it's looking like a VERY ugly nite for Obama and the democrats going into Tuesday....

STILL going to ignore the voters out there democrats?

Wanna call the voters some more names? Hmmmm?

Comonnnnnn, call them "hate mongers" some more, call them astroturf, comonnnnnnnn...call the tea party people nazis again....

HOW'S THAT WORKIN' OUT SO FAR, HUH?

This is a very huge anger wave out there against the democrats.

And Obama is desperate to save at least ONE governor seat.

REDISTRICTING. 2010 census, and 2011 redistricting, where the houses and the governors play a MASSIVE role in redistricting house seats.

Yep, and he wants to jury rig the districts with democrats in charge so that they can take away more republican seats.

NY-23? Obama plucked the moderate republican out of there for some unimportant appointment, thinking he could pick up ANOTHER democrat seat for the house.

A very cynical move. Guess what?

IT'S BACKFIRING. It looks like Hoffman, who is even MORE conservative, is going to win against Owens, the democrat.

And Scozzafava, the "republican" dropped out Saturday, and then SUNDAY, endorsed the DEMOCRAT.

Proving she never WAS a "conservative." Newt Gingrich, whom I admire (or USED to) looks pretty stupid right about now endorsing her.

INDEPENDENTS are flocking to the CONSERVATIVES who tout FISCAL responsibility, restraint, tax cuts, and slashing over bloated governments.

And to the horror of democrats, they're losing all over the place.

Article after article called the tea parties an "ominous sign" for the democrats.

But the MSM and the democrats just ignored them and called them names.

It didn't matter now many times people told the reporters that these were REGULAR people showing up, getting involved for the first time in their lives.

The MSM and the democrats just arrogantly brushed them aside and called them names.

When the VOTERS are angry, it doesn't matter how many ugly commercials the democrats run against "conservatives" who want to foster JOBS and TAX CUTS and limiting government...that message will ALWAYS win.

After all, that's what OBAMA promised you.

But he is governing the complete opposite. And THAT has the nation livid.

He's lied over and over again. The democrats have been in charge for almost a year. Obama 10 months. They've done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about jobs.

Just the mindless obsessive push to barge into your doctor's office.

Even liberal Columnist Herbert wrote a piece called "Does Obama Get It?" where he laments that Obama seems clueless to the pain in the nation, and doesn't have any idea how to deal with it or get us out of it.

Herbert says, in other words, HC reform isn't the crisis Obama, it's unemployment.

Not a SINGLE POLL IN AMERICA has said that HC reform is the top priority.

Not a single poll in America EVER HAS...

"It's the economy, stupid."

And all they see is Obama and Pelosi mindlessly spending, pushing into your doctor's office, while ignoring 16 million people on the edge of homeless and destitute...

But they think it's more important to mandate you purchase something...

Welcome to the whackjob world of Obama. And you're seeing the results of their idiocy in Virginia, NY, and NJ right this second.

And Obama is petrified of the message that's coming. He's desperate to stop it.

I am quite aeare of my history, Captain-
I am also aware that Virginia has been Republican for 44 years--And also that Virginia has never voted for a Govenor of the same party as the sitting Presidents Party in history--Were You?
What I don't understand is all the hatred shown on this forum toward our Elected President and the disrespect for the Office itself.

By the way, The Confederacy had many Flags, why use the one that was adopted and has always been used by and for representing the Klan?

Ahhhhhhhhh, and the spin begins. "It was always republican."

Just a few months ago, the democrats were bragging about turning Virginia "blue."

Where's that bragging now?

Obama couldn't get away from Virginia FAST enough. and then try to back fill the grapevine with "Deeds didn't hug me enough." as the reason Deeds is losing.

Puhhhhhleeeaaazuh!

Look, the liberals are already trying to spin this as "it doesn't mean anything."

BUT, what the liberals are missing?

THIS IS LOOKING LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE A LAND SLIDE SWEEP.

Not just Warner who won, blah blah.. and others.

Remember, Voters can SPLIT their votes. But all indications are, THEY'RE NOT.

They're going to WHOLE SALE WIPE OUT THE DEMOCRATS ALL THE WAY DOWN THE BALLOT.

This isn't some "anti incumbent" message the MSM is trying to blather at you.

This is a major ANTI DEMOCRAT message out there. Republican Incumbents with FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE messages are pounding democrats by DOUBLE DIGITS.

That's not anti incumbent, that's ANTI DEMOCRAT. 1 in 5 voters in Virginia don't know enough about the candidates to form an opinion, but they still OVERWHELMINGLY support the republicans.

That's a mandate man. That's saying, it doesn't matter WHO we vote for, as long as it ISN'T ANOTHER DEMOCRAT.

The fact that Obama is desperate to save Corzine, IN A HARD BLUE STATE, in a 3 way race that CORZINE SHOULD BE CAKE WALKING, Obama's own behavior says THESE RACES ARE IMPORTANT.

If I'm a democrat staring at 2010? I'd be petrified, because obviously Obama is.

Lets see if we wake up Wednesday morning with Virginia independents screaming at Obama and Pelosi:

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?!?!?!?!?!

Good for you. Always said, the only way to get a message through is to whole sale wipe out a party on a ballot.

Clean house, all the way down to your local dog catcher.

looks like that's EXACTLY the message that Virginia is sending to Obama and the democrats.

Liberals already out there spewing "it's about local issues."

Oh really? Democrats who have ALREADY LOST in special elections held in October said different. They said they lost MAINLY DUE TO THE HC DEBATE.

Yep. They found out there with the voters, the HC debate IS local.

Well, when you have Obama and Pelosi ignoring 16 million people unemployed, but mindlessly and obsessively pushing into the most intimate aspect of your life, the doctor's office...

IT DOESN'T GET MORE LOCAL THAN THAT!

The liberals are already trying to say "these don't mean anything" about Virginia when only a few months ago they were bragging about turning it "blue."

Guess what...Obama's behavior says they DO matter. He RAN away from the anger in Virginia as fast as he could then claimed Deeds didn't "hug me" enough.

He's been LIVING in NJ for the last 3 weeks, and Corzine is STILL down in the polls...

NY 23 just JETTISONED the "Obama lite" candidate.

And Virginia is staring down the barrel of a SWEEP for the first time in 12 years. Not just a sweep, a LAND SLIDE sweep.

That's not an anti incumbent message, that's an ANTI DEMOCRAT message. While the liberals want to say "well, Warner went on to, blah blah" But look at those examples...

If this is a land slide? Those comparisons aren't valid.

That's a MESSAGE man, no matter what the liberals try to tell you. IT'S A MANDATE.

IT'S A REFERENDUM ON OBAMA AND THE DEMOCRATS.

The MSM just doesn't want you to know that democrats have ALREADY LOST elections since 2008, and now, it looks like they're gonna be WIPED OUT in Virginia, all the way DOWN THE BALLOT.

If I'm a democrat running in 2010, I'd be petrified. Obama obviously is.

Sneak peak behind the curtain to see the coming show in 2010. If they don't change the script, that's what's going to play out in 2010.

Annnnnnnnnnnnd, look at that...the GOP picked up 5 HOUSE SEATS IN VIRGINIA ALSO....

Thwarting the democrats plan to take over the house before the 2011 redistricting.

The GOP actually GAINED 5 MORE seats...

Mmmmm mmmmm mmmmmm.....and the VOTERS interviewed said it WAS about Washington, contrary to the blithering of the MSM saying "noooooo, it's not about Obama and Washington policies."

And the trend continues...
