The 'blk women are not seen as adding status' comment really stood out to me. What kind of shallowness is being accepted here? I've always thought of my gf/spouse as being my best friend and personally compatible not has an object to garner me status. Are there really a large number of people selecting their spouses based on the status gained?

they are waiting for the right man, just as sargent willie pete and black women bashers said to them stop choosing the wrong men(thugs/brothas that don't want o get married). AND NOW WE DECIDE TO STAY SINGLE AND WAIT TO BETTER OURSELVES, men GOT A PROBLEM WITH IT wtf???

I don't select a spouse just based on that, not at all. I think a man who can be your friend as well as your lover is a great thing

You know what I think.I think it's mainly and ultimately due to the fact that they only want a black man that's already made and well paid. They don't want to invest in an educated black man that has potential while he's working to reach his goals, until after he becomes successful. That's the culprit that's hindering them from finding one.If they are willing to work with him now while he's in his junior year of high school or freshman year of college until he makes it, this wouldn't be a problem.

Not all men have a problem with a sista being patient for the right men.I guess they only have a problem with them having attitudes and being overly controlling in a relationship since they think that having more money than them gives them the right to do so.

Hes talking about women not girls, so why are you talking about junior year in high school.

But to find the right person takes time for most people. You don't want to rush into a marriage.

Um, for referential purposes perhaps?Besides, the earlier a man or woman invests in an educated man with potential, so much the better.

Wow, that's offensive and I agree with you 'adding status' Know what? People should avoid those with this mentality, because they can only do harm thinking that way.

People should be seeking someone they see as an equal or better. Someone that makes them feel like they can do better and be better...not someone they can have around as a trophy!

Are women today not successful until they get married? When was this the new code? Is it somehow supposed to be different for black women?

i think that's the problem with most women in an American society, rampid materialism. that, and noone is willing to put the work in. and then u have aholes who marry a gal when they r poor and she sacrifices putting him thru school building him up, they build a life together ..and then, shes no longer young and pretty and he ditches her for a newer model. so people r more and more out for theirs, immediate gratification.

Spirituality is lacking in many people's lives.

ive heard white men complain about this too. i think its an American issue, not specifically a black one.

Daily Horoscope for December 7

Taurus

There are powerful forces at work in a relationship today, and they'll have quite an impact on you. If you're with that special person in your life, don't be surprised if there's a lot of sexual tension between you that manifests as irritation and bad temper. You'll probably have a huge row and then have a very enjoyable time making it up.
