New trail is in planning stage
The Pennsylvania Environmental Council, a statewide nonprofit group, met Wednesday at Penn State Wilkes-Barre to ascertain the feasibility of and to develop a plan for a possible Harvey's Creek Trail/Greenway. The study would include areas in Dallas, Jackson, Kingston, Lake, Lehman and Plymouth townships, and Dallas and Harveys Lake boroughs.

What about the old trolly line trail to Harveys Lake? Much of it is still intact anbd it runs from Luzerne to the lake. No point in duplicating the great Lehigh Valley railroad trail from Luzerne to Shavertown BUT from the top of the hill at the lake, Idetown to Sunset through the woods is an awesome rock cut trail that is being lost out of neglect and encroachment. There might also be an opportunity to reclaim parts of the trolley line trail from Idetown to Dallas. Somebody ought to take a look at this.
