<quoted text>Before you go picking my posts apart, reread the article. There is no evidence that the owner deliberately allowed the dog to run loose. I never intentionally allow dogs to run loose. but I have had dogs sneak out on me including one who could not be deterred by tall chain link fences.

Huskies who escape don't hang around. They're runners, as are less mobile dogs when they aren't used to being loose. They all begin to go in wider and wider circles out of disorientation...unless they're accustomed to being out.

"He jumped the fence..." one day after a couple of years...but never before....

Anyone who is interested can go to this site and see the message from the ex, deeply irresponsible (non) owner of the dog. Or at least the post is represented as being his....

The syntax and grammar, lack of microchipping or license or dog tags or vet records, the allegations of excessive kenneling and purposeful exposure to marijuana (the guy has a criminal record for receiving or dealing,) the dog running around...tells you all you need to know.

Of course there are early indications that both parties have lied, so that will complicate matters.

We do have allegations. If they are true, he should be made to forfeit ownership of the dog. The owner does have the right to his day in court if it comes to that. There is still no proof the man frequently allowed his dog to run at large and we only have the girl's say so as to where the dog was found and that she found no identification on the dog.

Well duh,... no identification IS proof the prior owner was negligent. As far as I'm concerned, a person who cares so little to have no tags, vet record, or secure enclosure for his pet is undeserving of the pet. I'm glad the dog "escaped" that hell. I hope the girl tears that selfish attention seeker apart in court. I'm betting when faced with compensating her for the vet bills she incurred while caring for his "pet", he'll fold his one pitiful card and leave the game.

Everyone knows that Huskies, even mixes, are escape artists (the little, tundra fckers, lol,) so maybe there is some wiggle room on that one.

The neighbors would know for sure if the dog running around loose was a regular thing.

Did you read the words preceding what I said about lack of identification? We only had the girl's say so. I am not accusing anybody of lying. All I am saying is that the charges should be investigated and if and only is found to be true, the man should have the dog taken away from him. There is also nothing said in the article whether the dog's being loose was a one time occurrence or a chronic thing.
