The fact that Bruce Roth was intelligent enough to finish training as a D.O. ought to mean that he has enough intelligence to understand not only the rule he is fighting but the reason for it as well. That said, I would not choose him for any medical reason. He must have cheated to finish his training. As an Ohio taxpayer, I resent subsidizing his education and having him mock the rule and the citizens of Ohio who helped put him through his education. I hope that he not only loses his ludicrous lawsuit, but has the extra amount he must pay doubled or tripled in the process. I will be very upset with any judge who would find in Roth's favor. I agree with your sentiments regarding his lack of obligations to the state of Ohio. It seems, a lot of people now a day, feel they can do as they please for the sake of personal rights. But why not, when the majority of man kind feel they can do as they please. Read some of the columns in the Dispatch. Most of the editors write article up holding actual guilty criminals. So why wouldn't a doctor feel the same way, if he has the same mentality.

I am a D.O. in Ohio. I lived in Dayton, OH when I applied for school, and was not accepted by Ohio U. I ended up having to go out of state, and leave the state I where I intended to practice. I would have gladly stayed in Ohio for 5 years in order to go to Ohio U, stay closer to family, save money, etc. etc. He should be glad he had that opportunity. Situations do change, I understand, but a contract is a contract. If you can't fulfill it, then you pay the penalty, unfortunately. I understand his dilemma, but if a judge rules in his favor, it hurts the mission of OU and them financially. Getting into medical school is a privilege, and he is taking it for granted. I do feel for him, as life does change, but you have to learn to reap what you sow.

I know Bruce personally. He happens to be a "cold fish". Bruce was disciplined by the hospital that allows him to work there for mistreating welfare/medicaid patients. Bruce has spent his entire life looking down on the less fortunate and now he wishes to srew OU out of his contractual obligation. Perhaps the same way he srewed over his whole entire family (less his wonderful father). Once the truth is finally known about Bruce and his crew, he will pray that he can practice on welfare patients in Mexico.

I agree with you completely. Perhaps this schmuck will one day reap what he hasw sown. I wonder what would be uncovered if this father and son duo was investigated?

I am a physician in the United States Navy. I wanted to go to OU but was concerned with the contract I would have to sign with the University and now with law suits pending against the University. Instead, I went to another state's school...which, by the way, does not penalize you for not staying in the state. Certainly, they (that state/taxpayer) subsidized tuition, but the fact that Ohio residents are not bound by a 5-year commitment, but out-of-staters are (AND, those who are Military Docs) is ridiculous. Even if I were stationed at the Air Force base in Ohio (unlikely), I wouldn't be there for 5 years--nor would it count, because the AF hospital is on federal land. It is a silly rule that hurts Ohio. I hope the suits win...the penalty for not staying in Ohio is as much as other school's complete tuition...which shows Ohio is wrong and milking out-of-staters.
