There are 5 comments on the EDGE story from Aug 23, 2011, titled Researchers Announce Confirmation That Bisexuality is Real. In it, EDGE reports that:

Researchers have announced the first scientifically and objectively verified proof that bisexuality -- a contested sexual orientation even among the GLBT community -- actually does exist and is not simply a label to which those too timid to declare themselves as gay retreat, the New York Times reported in an Aug.

It took 'researchers' to figure this out? Ridiculous waste of money.

No one ever doubted that some bisexuals are actually bisexual.

The question is, as with Robert Downey Jr., how many (male) bisexuals are just skirting an issue with a euphemism, imo.

I wonder who decides to waste more time posting these BS study articles on the site in the first place.

As the article said, I'm glad that it's now scientifically proven, but it doesn't address the relative strength of the arousal. I still firmly believe that Kinsey had it right with his 0 to 6 scale.

I wonder if the scientists could design a study that could measure the relative arousal both objectively and subjectively. I really think that there's way too many married men who engage in sex with men, and I think the reason is societal pressure to be straight. I'd like to see the objective arousal figures on those men... we might find that there are a lot more men who are bisexual with homosexual preferences!

So what if there are? Why not just let people be people? Leave their own sexualities for them to figure out. Worrying about labeling the preferences and tendencies of another takes focus away from enjoying your own.
