Don't remember the Maine vote, just keep eyes on gay prize

There are 1 comment on the www.dailyherald.com story from Nov 7, 2009, titled Don't remember the Maine vote, just keep eyes on gay prize. In it, www.dailyherald.com reports that:

Perhaps the Rev. Gilbert H. Caldwell picked up his unflinching boldness in his pursuit of justice from all those years he spent on the civil rights trail with the man he calls Martin King.

But as a new member of PFLAG's national board, the well-respected, heterosexual, African-American, Methodist minister is exactly what the gay rights movement needs today, says John Cepek, the suburban Cook County man who is national president of Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians and Gays.

I don't love or agree with everything he says, but it's interesting and amusing to note that those *WHO SOUND* the most educated and intelligent are the ones *for equality*. They are much, much more well-spoken, their points are clear, and they *can explain them in passionate terms* that would open the eyes of the anti-gay if they weren't *STAPLE-GUNNED SHUT*.

As an aside, I saw another editorial today criticizing the attitude that "As the older generations die off, gay rights will prevail." WOW, with all the abuse people suffer, how do you expect them to react? I turn *RIGHT AROUND* and firmly say, Shame on *YOU* for an anti-gay editorial. Talk to your fellow *spineless ones*, not the gay people who are simply being honest about how sick they are of being abused.

Period.
