"The revenue from oil and natural gas development on Otero Mesa in Otero County would
be small, representing 0.27 percent of all oil and natural gas production taxes and royalties in
New Mexico and 1.3 percent of total revenue from all sources for Otero County in 2007. The
economic outlook is similar. Proposed energy development on Otero Mesa is insignificant at the
state level, and would account for less than 1 percent of total employment in the county"

The problem with taking anyone's word at face value in this part of the state is the the deception that hides some major flaws, either purposefully or due to total ignorance. Until the citizens begin to question the purpose of any change and evaluate the words of those who are selling their views with a critical approach, the taxpayer is at the mercy of those who have the power.
Drill baby drill! There is tons of gas and oil and water up there. We should be tapping into all of it. Most people have never even been up there on that waste land. It is a perfect place to drill!

Lets hope not - this is just another ploy by

afford nor sustain.
Show us the plan, who is going to make what and
how many local employees will be put to work -
unlike the Spaceport which did little to nothing
for our area.
