That crack corner store has been there for years. It was there loooonnnnngggg before Polk came to town. It survived before and it will survive after.

As for the international store, federal student aid helped establish them. And I do not mean in the way of money being spent by students patronizing the store. lol

Beckley will not close because MSU stands to go away. Have you fools forgot that there are other schools in Beckley. Let me remind you. There is New River, Concord, WVU extension, Marshall extention, and Bluefield. This area is not without alternative education choices. Quit crying chicken little. The sky is not falling all because of MSU.

The others schools are more than happy to take up the slack of this unseemly place or so called university.

Not everyone is employed at MSU. MSU does not own every organization in Beckley. There have been many businesses that have come and gone. MSU is no different. MSU should not have been conducting education corruptly. Otherwise they would not be in the situation they are. And we would not be debating this.

Read a news paper or watch the news occasionally instead of depending on this forum for information. The community leaders are saying this will be devastating to beckley.

Yes they said it might close the convenient store on crack corner. What a shame! Or maybe the fake nail place will go bankrupt since Artis and the others will not be able to keep their hooker nails.

Tell me how keeping a scamming school open for business is good for the community? Did you read the report from the HLC? I did. The school was not operating with integrity. They lied to the HLC back in 2008. It took the nursing program's failure to expose what is really going on. Another program was recently placed on probation. The DMS program. Did you know that a couple of other programs were already shut down? ie. respiratory and nurse anesthetist. These are all red flags that some people are too stubborn to see. There are many problems internally with this school. Problems that have been going on for many years and just because the worst player is gone does not mean all will be well. The entire structure of the school needs to be changed. That especially means the replacement of many employees within that school. The three administrators that "resigned" Mays, Alexander, and Silosky did not put a dent into what needs to be done. The corruption runs all the way down the organizational structure. The corrupt, incompetent Board put on their dog and pony show a little to late. Another red flag.
