Editorial: Beware of for-profit colleges

Dismally, a new congressional report says many for-profit colleges use high-pressure recruiting to enroll marginal students, saddle them with large federal loans, and cast them adrift with no degrees -- while school executives and stockholders pocket fat profits.

As MSU demonstrated so well (well, at least they did one thing well), non-profit schools can be just as worthless and unreliable as for-profit schools. MSU was enrollment driven and its recruiters were trained to be just as unscrupulous as those at any for-profit institution.
