Mr. Slayton, a confidante, a protector, a nurturer, a public servant, an inspirational and moving public speaker, and one you could turn to for truth in council. He brought magnificent energy and dedication to his life’s work. I loss my father and Mr. Slayton, Assistant Secretary of State, reached out to spread words and acts of support. His life serves as a symbol of the good and faithful servant, the mentor, the trusted friend that was a beacon of light and pure joy. He will truly be missed.
