Heh...great song, Mr. Bill.
Putting people in jail because of snowballs is just ridiculous. There was no intent to do harm. A similar incident happened in Washington D.C. A cop got hit by a snowball, and went off the deep end.

I think a fine should suffice.

I don't know how you can know that; I believe otherwise. I believe the snowball hit its target and the perpetrators are yelling OOOPs.
Doesn't fly in my book. It's all fun n' games until someone loses his bullets.
However... throw them in jail?!!? Was it a concealed snowball operated without a license?
Had I walked into the police station wanting to press charges that I was hit by a snowball I also believe the cops would have a good time laughing about it.

If this goes to trial, can the prosecutor present the alleged snowball as evidence?

Perhaps the judge can just make the men pay damages for whatever emotional pain and suffering resulted from the incident.

Last sentence is spot on, to add, if I dialed 911 to report I was hit by a snowball, I might be facing charges for misusing 911...

The cop must be a real wussy, poor thing, he got his whittle feelings hurt...I guess a snowball can only be considered a winter time "weapon"?LOL...Its come to a point in this country that when we consider snowballs "weapons" and court systems actually allow these type of silly things to go to trial we have to seriously review the mental capacity of both procecuters and judges...They are not only tying up the court system but ruining the records of people and causing our jails to become overcrowded...Meanwhile they have to let "Johnny" the child molester of jail early because the system is over crowded...All for a snowball...Give them a fine, slap them on the wrist and send them home to mommy and daddy...I'm quite sure after mommy and daddy pay the fine they will take it out of their youngsters hide...LOL...Oh, and the cop, should be laughed out of the precinct by his fellow brothers and sisters at the station...What a wussy!

Should Police protection be withdrawn from the criminlistic inner cities? Are we wasting our resources on a problem that's just not worth fixing anymore?

now if the cop picked up that snow ball the threw it back at the kid and hit him, how much trouble would that cop be in? Just a thought.

That depends. Do you know how many of "those" police are on the take? Ask Kwame.

Now if EVERYONE was able to carry a concealed weapon (as the cop did), others might be more respectful about how they behave in public. Knowing someone might pull a gun because they feel threatened or feel their person violated, would add a whole different dimension of RESPECT towards how they treat other people ... even if it is just a snowball.

(though I am NOT advocating that anyone pull a gun over a snowball ...)

That's my point exactly. Ask Kwame. When outcast elements are allowed to infest and destroy what was previously thriving corridors of society, such as Dearborn, should the taxpayer have to foot the bill for this groups destructive tendency? If you have cancer, do you feed the cancer to try to make it better, or do you call the surgeon? The surgeon doesn't ask the cancer why it is a cancer, he just deals with the problem.

Why don't you go to the police department, toss a snowball at the cops and let us know the results.
