God don't move people to handle snakes. If that was the case then why didn't he move people to do it before George Went Hensley (the man who invented snake handling) moved to East Kentucky and started it here...

If you actually read the earlier part of Mark 16 - you'd see that Jesus had pulled the apostles off to themselves. The whole "them" is referencing the apostles (the ones he was talking to).

I get sick of hearing the ignorance in this area concerning religion, idiot preachers who claim they are inspired yet know about as much bible as a 1st grader.

You claim to be able to drink poison - try some anti-freeze and not some clear liquid you can fake.

You claim to speak in tongues yet hire interpreters for mission trips? Read Acts 2 they could speak unknown languages to them. Heck, why do a bunch of you go and convert all the Mexicans around here out of Catholocism by showing them you can speak Spanish.

You claim to heal, yet some of your members still die of cancer?

Mark 16 also says that "signs" are to confirm the word - why not confirm it in the nursing homes.

Saddest thing I ever seen was a fellow with no legs who belongs to a faith healing church...

I think II Thes 2:10 describes these folks best of all, that and II Tim 4.

I challenge this fella named Bro. Glen to provide me with any scripture from a King James Bible where our Lord and Saviour describes that handling of snakes is what a Christian does. Snake handling is a man made doctrine that has been planted in the brains of these poor mountain people here in East Kentucky for many years. If you can give me scripture to read where my Lord Jesus Christ says you should handle snakes in my name and drink poison in my name to prove to others that i am real then i will shut up! It is tempting God my friend you better take it to the Bible and stop making a fool of yourself in Jesus's name!

I most definitely don't believe in Snake Handling! I grew up and still consider myself Apostolic Pentecost and have never been to a Snake Handling Church in my life. I have no desire to either. I think that scripture they are using is not talking about handling Snakes as a way of Worship. Now having said all of that as long as its only Grown ups with no kids around, and they are only fooling with ones Native to the area they probably should be left along. That and they must keep the Snakes away from me and mine!
