This is an interesting concept in many ways. I would mean local jobs although mostly seasonable. The skill level is low and easily attainable. Limited social skill is required. Security for the workers, equipment and crops is an issue. Would the crops be toxic? When I lived in Detroit as a kid, we stored mercury, lead and sulfuric acid in the garage from my father's battery franchise. Much of it got dumped on the ground or in the house. Crops grown there would be a killer. The crops could be taken to Eastern Market or sold directly. This plan would require significant organizational and management skills to work efficiently. The plan could start small and build with little risk in my opinion. Consolidate a section (640 acres) or a quarter and begin a test.
