chemo and radiation simultaneously

Hi- new to this forum but I'm hoping someone out there can help. I am currently being treated at Huntsman Cancer Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT. Stage 1, grade 1, er/pr pos, her2 neg. I had a lumpectomy in july with clean margins and no lymph spreading (sentinal and 3 nodes tested clean). I took the Oncotype DX and determined that chemo (CMF) would be in my best interests with radiation to take place afterward. I am now halfway through chemo treatments and handling it well- no serious adverse side effects to speak of. I'm 39 and physically fit. I have asked my oncologist if I could start radiation treatments (I am instructed to have 33 sessions) now rather than wair because I have heard that doing them simultaneously will actually increase the 10-year survival rate by as much as 10%. His nurse tells me I am scheduled to start radiation two weeks AFTER chemo and he won't call me and tell me the pros and cons of why this simultaneous idea should or should not be done.
Has anyone been through CMF/radiation at the same time?
What was your experience? I'm starting to get upset that no one over at Huntsman is addressing my concerns.
