Elvis was an artist, you cannot deny the impact his music made on American culture. Just because YOU didn't get Elvis doesn't make his work any less important. Kinda my point here, art is suggestive, everyone appreciates different kinds. Anyone who seeks to condemn ANY form of art based upon their own interpretation of it needs to get off their high-horse, check their ego and stand aside so that the rest of us can appreciate whatever art we're into.

Well some very good points here. However being a person that grew up in a home that had a music room filled with dozens of instruments most of my family can play I feel a bit educated on music. We know over the years people have been created because they were right for the time. This has happened over and over and continues to happen. The media and the entertainment industry know how to make people love (and hate). Elvis was one such person. I think itís fine that you like him and that you believe what you say but it doesnít make it right. It wasnít his work; it was always someone elseís. I did get Elvis; I got him dead balls on. He was a hack. An entertainer only, no different than a ventriloquist, just a stage man nothing more. Sorry.

Sad, very Sad. A mandatory military services to all young men will shake all the crap they have in their heads. Maybe with a mandatory military service for 2 years, we can help to build a better future. Sad very sad.

As a Northern California Horrorcore Rapper myself I'd like to implore you not to judge the genre at whole by the actions of one imbecile. I (like a lot of other rappers) use my lyrics to vent my anger at the world around me without actually having to do violent things.
For those of you that think all rappers are thugs (or glorify thug behavior) you're missing the whole point. Rap didn't create the situations we write lyrics about, the situations inspired us to write our lyrics. Everyone has a story to tell, sometimes the story isn't so pleasant. If you're going to relegate the lyrics of our genre as a whole to the burn pile based upon the violent content I'd like to make a few suggestions of other works that fit into the category: The works of Edgar Allan Poe, half of Shakespeare's plays, Gone With the Wind, the Bible (both old and new testaments), and The Star Spangled banner (rockets red glare, bombs bursting in air..etc)
I'm not trying to sound un-American, quite the contrary, we live in a country where I CAN speak my mind and I'd like to ask you to please remember your parents' reaction to Elvis's first performance on the Ed Sullivan Show.
you poor thing--need to vent your feelings? here is an idea: vent your rage by getting a job. take care of your family. contribute to the community. instead of sitting around "venting" with garbage music and garbage lyrics.(garbage in, garabage out.) oh, and please don't put your pseudo-art in the company of sharespeare, ok?

WHAT THE HELL, WHO GIVES A CRAP WHAT HE LISTENED TO RAPPED ABOUT OR FRIGGEN WATCHED ON TV? HE OBVIOUSLY IS DISTURBED IN A SERIOUS WAY!! I AM MEAN U GOTTA BE PRETTY SCREWED IN THE HEAD TO KILL 4 PEOPLE. EITHER WAY FOR WHAT EVER TWISTED REASON HE DID IT, IT'S DONE, AND IT SHOULD REMIND US NOT TO BE SO TRUSTING TO LET JUST ANYONE INTO OUR HOMES! AND NO ONE CAN EVER CONVINCE ME THAT MUSIC, TV OR VIDEO GAMES CAUSED OR CONTRIBUTED TO HIS ACTIONS, IT WAS A CHOICE AN TO SAY IT WAS DONE FOR ANY OTHER REASON IS A COP OUT!! HE MENTAL PROBLEM THAT DROVE HIM TO DO WHAT HE DID, BUT I SAW HIM ON THE NEWS, I THINK IT WAS JUST PURE EVIL!! SOME PEOPLE JUST HAVE NO REGUARD FOR LIFE, NOT EVEN THEIR OWN!! HE IS WHERE HE BELONGS AN I HOPE HE STAYS THERE FOR THE REST OF HIS MISERABLE LIFE!!
