To the people out there saying this should be outlawed, Be careful what you wish for! "Yeah lets get the government to tell us more things we cant do!"
I have been to these races and I enjoy them tremendously. I didn't pay $35.00 to get in, in fact I didn't pay anything. I don't have to sit in a stand behind a cement barrier and a fence or pay $10.00 for a beer.
If I get injured I won't sue anybody because I am responsible for my own well being, "WHAT A CONCEPT" and I want it that way.
This is still "barely" a free country and people need to take responsibility for their actions.
The people watching this race were too close to the track PERIOD. But they were there because they wanted to be there.
I don't get that close and neither would most of the people reading this right now. It was a race and race cars crash! You know people jump out of perfectly good airplanes too.

Low Brow, all of these auto racing events .. dumbing down of our society .. ban them all, inculding Nascar and that nasty polluting Long Beach race .. these desert events are lawless in nature, the crowds they attract are more dangerous than the vehicles
