Seth Stambaugh, a 23-year-old graduate teaching student at Lewis & Clark College, says he was removed as a student teacher at a Portland, Oregon area elementary school because he told students he is gay. Or was it because he dared discuss the state's same-sex marriage ban?

When I was in parochial school when I was a young boy in the early 1960's, we celebrated all of the holidays in class including Sr. Valentine's Day. I spent 5 years at that school (Grace Lutheran in Queens Village)(it was the BEST school I ever attended).
And on St. Valentine's Day, EVERY one of the 30 kids in the class got a St. Valentine's Day Card from EVERY student n the class. So each boy and girl, recieved 14 cards from their own gender, and 15 cards from the opposite gender. I don't know if that was something the teacher told the parents, but I remember that it was ALWAYS that way at Grace Lutheran, and nobody thought it was strange.
There is nothing wrong with a teacher telling the students who he or she can, or cannot, marry.
