TRIPLED? Holy crap, I could see an increase, but TRIPLING the allowed rise is horrendous. Tuition in Britain will be as bad as tuition in THIS country, if not worse!

No wonder the kids aren't OK with THAT...

..... As I see it, usually no more than a 5% per year increase should be permitted/applied.
..... A change of political parties in power usually implies that the voters want CHANGES. So you got changes!

many on the demos are not University students at all, but from schools, many are only 14 or so, some from "6th form Colleges", and a large number of crusty squatters, including the "Whitechapel Anarchists".

Yup, exactly. These are the same regular militant anarchists that show up at any and all events, where they can attack "the system". Anti-capitalist, anti-war (ironic), UAF events ect all see the same mob.

why this students demand so much, nothing is free, they assume the whole world have to work for free so they can have an education, they don't understand the chain of people involved in educating them, from the bus driver to the ink maker to the school staff, the teacher to the sandwich maker,to the taxpayers, everybody help into providing them with education nothing came for free, everybody deserve to be pay.
don't give them anything, this are nothing but ungrateful angry people who take their frustrations on others.
teach them how the economy works.

As a non-person in the globalized( not civilized) world I have the high respect for those young people to correct the faulty( NASTY) system.
In Germany the education is not that far..

In India it is better to get soup.

Being from SF,I am surprized that you think that way.The last that I knew is that the people in Cal.got free college.Students from out of state paid in full and the illegals paid only about 1/3,if at all(great system isn't it?)But than again the people in Ca.voted Boxxer back in and put Brown in office, must be something in the water. What you see going on in England will be here in the states sooner than you think. No country,England,U.S.A.,Germany ,France, ect can keep handing out "entitlements"to the people that won't provide for themselves on the backs of the working people(taxes).None of our countries can keep letting anyone/everyone in as we can afford to pay for them.It is a shame that England has the same problems as us,liberal democrats.I wish all of the English people good luck and I hope you can get rid of all of the liberals that you have in your goverment, again, good luck.

After todays riot where Mr Sir Prince and his Lady C got mobed, maybe things will change. Wheather it's for good or bad, only time will tell.
It seems Brit leaders are often slow to learn, and keep losing people and entire countries because of it.

don't be surprise, experience has tough me the lesson, being a tax payer with a tiny business is not a joke, and I dislike people who demand and think themselves entitle to the earnings of others, I think the socialist mentality has won and the entire world think this is the way to go.
nothing better than when people develop their sense of responsibility instead of demanding they should be part of the solution.

what you feel is call class envy, it's also called reverse snobbishness, it came from a lower class thinking mentality where people expect everything for free and easy, this is why gambling places do well near inner cities, because people want instant useless gratification vrs long lasting hard earn rewards.
overpopulation is ruining the world
