Yep.
The fact that they resort to potty-mouth taunts?
Proves I scored a point on them-- and made them squirm inside.
I'd call that success, myself.

Then why on >>earth<< would you bother to post in an obviously ATHEIST thread?
Hmmm?
Since you pretend that you don't care one way or the other....?
So I cant post because this is an "atheist thread"

Oh I care I just find this whole debate ridiculous. I was an atheist like I said before to dang boring, I am up for adventures of the mind and spirit of course you would not understand that because you don't have a spirit right?

I wonder why people think the way they do and the beliefs or non beliefs they have. I have no faith in man look at how things have been screwed up because of men who have some perceived power they think they have, religious leaders lol politicians lol, and the weak minded people who fall on every word. Though I do have faith in humanity there are some dang good people on this earth I know a few just everyday people like me who have a different outlook, how can an atheist be happy about anything? they have nothing to look forward to just a grave, well not me sir no grave for this spirit just a flow of energy when my flesh gives out and my spirit is released from this shell the things I will see and do. I am not a christian just know something that atheists refuse to acknowledge to bad for them...

That dog won't hunt!

I have been an atheist since birth!
My life is filled with joy. If I were to die at this very moment I would consider my life had been a terrific adventure, filled with happiness and wonderful experiences. And... I would die with lots of TOYS!

Those that want to dabble in superstion merely amuse me.

Religion is organized superstion. There is nothing 'holy' about it except in the minds of the believers in such things.

Never said I was religious, lots of toys, wow good for you. Superstition? nothing superstitious here. You have not experienced what my life has been like so you can not judge, I cant judge you and don't. Just trying to say there is something else to our existence, you can choose to believe it or not it makes no difference to me. Just wonder why one would choose not to explore it. And I am sure I have had just as much fun as you and have had some great toys and still do but those are just material things. I sure am looking forward to that spirit ride, though I can wait for a while..

Waiting for that 'spirit ride' is like... hallucinating!

My 'spirit' rides high daily.
I really do not waste any time on superstition.
But for those that do... ok with me!

PS: I do enjoy other 'spirits' however! These I can see, touch and enjoy.

We have a turn here, and then it's time to make room for the next batch, thats simply the way it works, that you think you are somehow privileged, that in the entire scheme of this unmeasurable cosmos YOU are entitled to everlasting life is simply astounding and a little sad. I do know what a "comfy" feeling it must be to think you will always exist, like laying down in a cozy bed with your favorite stuffed animal and sucking your thumb. I can be "happy" because I know this here and now is heaven, and I don't treat my existence, as you do, as a brief interlude to the final "Big Show." Rather I savior every moment, strive to be as productive and creative as possible, make it a point to nurture loved ones and friendships, and in the end achieve more satisfaction and happiness than you I'm sure.

And you have proof of this "spirit" thing that is a "flow" of energy? I'm sure its something that has either been preached to you, or you read about it, you certainly have no evidence that such a thing exists, It's called "wish thinking" Most religious people are experts at it, you seem to be right up there with them.

You have no idea what you are talking about, no wishing at all, I have lived a lifetime in the last week and a half, save a fiends life, someone I would have laid down my life for. Ah the present moment, the essence of life, the twinkle in the eye, life on the edge, what could be better than that, I do it everyday until I have to sleep. No one has preached to me anything, no where in any of my posts have I wrote about being a christian, or being some bible thumper, or quoted a bible verse. You all act as though I don't believe that life is worth anything, epic fail. Yep I am entitled so are you so is everyone on this planet. Ah yeah I have proof of this "spirit thing" this energy that surrounds me and that I put out I feel high all the time not because of anything else but because I wake up in the morning work hard enjoy a good meal play with my dog and enjoy every present moment, if I put a smile on someones face make them feel good for a moment its all worth. I'm gonna live forever in one way or another only if its in my grandchildren's minds and hearts still here. Call it what you want it really doesn't matter spirit, soul, or just being happy to be alive whats the difference I just choose to believe in a power bigger than me a source if you want ah the source where all life comes from the stars. Of course being atheist you cant believe that can you? Your just here for a while and then you burn out and die. Not me I'm going out like a supernova.

I know I cant convince any of you to be explorers, why would you want to? to busy trying to prove something you cant must be frustrating, telling people they live in a fantasy world or believe in myths well I like fantasy and myth makes life lots more interesting.

Life is interesting enough without the myths and magic. Fantasies and myths by themselves are relatively harmless, its when people believe them to be real that it becomes unhealthy. People who believe in things that are not real have a mental illness called delusional disorder.

You are no different from most people of religion, unable to bear the thought that life has a ending, but like all things in the naturalistic realm they have a beginning and an end. In death you will be as before you were born. Until thee is evidence to the contrary, to believe that your existence will never end, is in fact "wish thinking."

So what does it matter then, believe me I am not delusional or anything like that. And whats wrong with wishing, or praying or dreaming same thing to me. You see I have had a prayer answered, and a dream come true, and I had nothing to do with it, fate and destiny have touched my life more than once and I had nothing to do with it. Everything happens for a reason there are no coincidences in life. In the naturalistic realm as you put it we were all created in the big bang, or in the biblical sense let there be light same thing to me. In that very flash that very moment everything the has ever and will ever exist was form and was transformed into what we have today pure energy, life, and it will never end, And you know what somehow that comforts me...

So its the weekend I am going to play a little got a date with a beautiful lady, going to get my hunting license sight, in my rifle, drink a few beers, eat good, and live life to its fullest, just like you, I hope you have a great weekend I know I will.

I think your biggest problem is, just because you were apparently unhappy whilst being an atheist you keep tagging all other atheists as being the same...and you couldn't be more wrong.
You display, even though you deny any affiliation, a very typical christian attitude towards atheists.

I was not unhappy as an atheist, I just had an experience that changed my life. I have not stated anywhere on any topic about this subject that I am or ever was a christian I have dealt with born again Christians who become so righteous I wanted to punch them in the face. Oh yeah I don't have a problem..and no I don't think all atheists are unhappy that is not what this is about happiness or unhappiness. I am real tired though of people assuming things about what I have said. Religion is not necessary to life it is man invented I don't go to church I don't worship a cross and don't quote the bible. Maybe if someone like me who never even thought about God or a higher power or anything like that had an experience like I had then maybe they could understand what I am trying to say. I cant prove a thing to anyone but what happened to me was real. And it changed my attitude that's all. There is something more to this life than what we see believe it or not it is a choice.

Of course if any of you atheists have an attitude like the infamous Madeline Murray O'Hare one of the most famous atheists ever then to heck with you she was an ugly nasty POS so if your like her God help you because you certainly are miserable

Post # 144...You said..."how can an atheist be happy about anything? they have nothing to look forward to just a grave"

You didn't say some atheists, or many atheists, you implied all atheists.
I'm not trying to hammer you, I'm just trying to get you to understand the perception you portray.

Just being passionate that's all, some times it gets away from me. Of course I have met some miserable Christians as well. I really am not anti atheist or pro christian I have watched the "praiseathons" on TCT what a joke they are, or the weird rants of Pat Robertson and recently the Harold Camping fiasco. And have listened to that monster O'Hare also a joke. Please understand I am just trying to show another side, I hold no malice towards atheists I don't find it a misguided way of life I lived it for a long time almost 40 years. Like I wrote before something changed me, I wont go into it, its to personal just a change.
