Best reservior storage rocks are those with an excess of Mg, Ca, Fe and Mn , possibly also Sr, and Pb.
Results will be precipitation of carbonate minerals in the pore space so better if bulk rock gas an alkaline excess. May also produce an HCO3 mineral assemblage which will flush out in the groundwater and result in natural sodapop springs.
Locking up excess CO2 is a good idea. Best scenario is an old trad gas field that has been "sucked" dry. Gas field will be able to store CO2 up to the pressure of the original gas (usually initially CH4 and a mix of extras).
Note however that the pressure of Co2 in the field when re stocked as a reservior is better a little lower than the discovery point pressure because the well integrity of the seal is not guaranteed and may blow out if pressured up to max.
