That's a good start, but beyond that we need someone who can move this city forward by about 20 years, all the while working within a shrinking budget. Citizens are having to do more with less. Government should be no different.

All levels of government must stop the entitlement programs that have bankrupted us. People need to take personal responsibility and fend for themselves. They might actually learn something.

This town must adjust it's mindset and priorities to build an infrastructure and culture that will attract businesses who will then provide REAL jobs. Not minimum wage chain restaurant jobs...or even $10-15 per hour warehouse or assembly line jobs, but real jobs out of which qualified people can make meaningful and fruitful careers.

Hopefully a candidate who can and will follow that map will emerge and be elected.

It is time for a BIG change in this community.

It sounds as though you would make a good candidate. It is my hope that who ever runs will have your knowledge, and good common sense.

Interesting question. I'm guessing yes...especially if they think their boy Dukey has no chance. I can just see our worthless police chiefs turning their back on him to hitch up with another candidate they think will let them keep their appointed jobs.

That doesn't sound like such a bad thing considering what we've had over the past 3 years.

I don't know about the best, but at least he got TH moving forward. And businesses were actually starting to consider TH for their expansion plans.

This is 100% true. He is backing him. Most people don't want to believe it as if there's actually any difference between the Reps and Dems. It would be nice for once to have a normal working person in office. Not just some career politician puppet. Maybe that's why things never seem to get better in Terre Haute.

And that surprises you somehow? And you say it like it's a bad thing. I don't think it is.

Nice speech "Yes" I had a dream that I was an astronaut that was also a brain surgeon as well but woke up and it was still me in Terre Haute but that's ok because it's where I want to be. I think you should do the same. Not trying to be a smart-ass but face facts brother, Terre Haute is what it is and it will never be a place that is fat with high-paying tech jobs no matter who the hell the Mayor or any other political figure is for that matter. The real need this community has is for someone that can corral the mess that we have now and help get any jobs to come here that they can and maintain an honest integrity at the same time. Your aim is very high which is great but it's waay beyond reality because just the simple things I mentioned is more difficult to accomplish than most can imagine. Just trying to do those things will get some people pissed off enough to come after you with a vengence because you dared to disrupt their comfortable deal. Ask that guy named Kevin Burke about that because he learned that the hard way!
