Missing Black.Men From HBCUs

I continue to read articles about the lack of Blan men on the campuses of HBCUs. As a Black male graduate of Howard, I am sensitive to the issue. However, my own son applied to Howard last year and was denied admission. Granted, he could have done better in high school and had a GPA of 2.93. That was his issue and he owns that. But he was heart broken when he did not get into Howard. Instead, he went to his local state university and made the Dean's List twice in his freshman year. His sophomore year is just getting underway. While I know that we have less Black men on campus, is part of the problem that HBCUs are not given more opportunities to Black men?
