"If the answers not obvious to you, there's another bit of history that can help clear it up. Starting in the 1940s and accelerating in the 1960s national Democratic attitudes about segregation moved to the left, while the attitudes of the southern conservatives who had long affiliated with the Democratic Party pushed further to the right. This created an untenable intraparty tension that couldn't last forever. And it didn't, because southern conservatives found a new, more comfortable party to call home, one that expressed values in sync with their own. It was the Republican Party. They switched to it in droves."

interesting piece of history.

i have heard folk on here complaining about how blk americans support the democratic party (is it any of there business) when the dems have a "past" history of being in cohust with racist ideologies.

i wonder what they have to say about this historical information.

Rand Paul left out the Southern Strategy, which explains that shift in the voting patterns. Folks seem to find it convenient to do that, just jump from Lincoln to LBJ, but not explain why?

Who is we? Are you referring to the black race here? The race that, per capita, has more unwed mothers, more people on welfare, more people in jail (yes, these are "criminals"), fewer traditional families, more failing students, more drop-outs, fewer successful business owners, etc., etc. than ANY other race?

Yep, I guess you have proved that "we" are really smart.
