Presidential debate gets personal

Hofstra debate could be McCain's last chance

Barack Obama and John McCain fired their sharpest in-person attacks of the presidential campaign during Wednesday night's presidential debate at Hofstra University .

After moderator Bob Schieffer asked the senators about the increasingly nasty tone of the campaign, McCain for the first time challenged Obama about his association with the 1960s radical Bill Ayers and Acorn, the liberal voter registration group.

It was a debate between John McCain who did so much for his country and for the American people as American hero and as lawmaker and Barack Hussein Obama the Kenyan born Muslim with connections with terrorists that will not show his birth certificate to the court, who never done anything for America with his empty resume and who as the Community Organizer of Acorn he was behind the biggest theft of the American people's money and contamination of the banking system with tens of millions of Marxist’s ‘bad loans’ through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
It was a debate between McCain who wants our US troops to win in the war against the Islamic terrorist of the Middle East and Barack who fought hard for…the defeat of US troops to the Islamic terrorists that finance and support his campaign and was talking to Iraq Foreign Minister in his visit to sabotage US troops withdrawal plan of McCain.
It was a debate between McCain who will solve the meltdown problem with Sarah Palin as true honest and patriotic leader and between Obama who was behind Acorn who caused the meltdown and who is blaming others for his own un-American career. It will be McCain and Sarah who will push America to become stronger and better while it will be Obama who will push America down as he tried to do during the last 20 years with his alliance with Acorn and with the terrorist Ayres, Farrakhan, Jeremiah Right, Khalid al Mansour and Rashid Khalidi and the Hamas and Hezbollah Islamic terrorists who are his best supporters.

Maybe it's me, but I think Schieffer did a sub-perfunctory job as moderator. I wanted to hear more substance, and precise details of the candidate's proposals (how do they intend to fund them?). Instead, I had to listen to despicable campaign smear tactics. Schieffer should have redirected the debate to the issues facing this country. November fourth can't come soon enough for me.

Question about "Joe the Plumber": The McCain camp implies that this business' net income before taxes is over $250,000. If that is true, then gross revenue must be in the millions. That being the case, we should all change vocations and become plumbers.

I know how the Republicans are trying very hard to rig the election again.
So instead of celebrating, please volunteer to watchdog in your town.
A lot of rich a-holes stand to lose a lot if Obama wins. If someone is making 250,000 and up, then you know they are living beyond their means and it takes dirty politics to refuel the bank account. McCain is one of those people. 13 cars, many homes.

I actually watched the exchange. It astounds me that Obama didn't make the case that it is a tax increase on the net, not the gross.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21134540/vp/27208...

Businesses, unlike individuals, pay taxes after they pay their bills, where individuals pay before they even get their check.

If the gross on the business is 250K, then Plummer's taxes would actually go down under an Obama plan because his NET (amount he would be taxed on) would be less.

Tactically, Obama should have made that distinction during his answer.

It is sad that great people running don't get a word edgewise in this electorial process, people like Ron Paul who are more better suited to be President don't get any air time at all yet is a much better choice than the beast, Obama or scrambled eggs for brains McCain!

I urge everyone to send a very strong message to those in power, we want a real change not just the same old same old anymore and VOTE Ron Paul next month!

I'm not sure what ads are running there in Tennessee, but here in Colorado, every commercial break has 1-2 McCain ads that are very negative....meaning attack ads. Not addressing the issues, but attacking his opponent.

On the other hand, Obama's ads are positive and address the issues. Yes, he may mention McCain in his ad, but doesn't dwell on him. McCain is running ads that have absolutely nothing to do with his policies in the slightest.

Tennesse, being a Bush state in the previous elections may not be getting inundated with the same negative ads from McCain. I don't know, I don't live there. But if not, and if things change as they have in Virginia, where I just moved from, you may be seeing the same negative ad frenzy from McCain we've seen here.

Though, Clinton did take Tennessee during both elections, following Bush I, so it isn't a given that McCain will keep Tennessee in the coming weeks.

I was expecting smoke to come out of McCain's ears at one point. His nervous tics won't work well when negotiating with foreign leaders.

Nothing is personal when talking about the new Islamic president of US.
McCain won it big time by telling the truth about ‘The Story of the Islamic Messiah Barack Hussein Obama and his Terrorist Friends’ and caused Barack Obama to laugh from embarrassment about his deceiving of the American people and working behind their backs against the interest of American people, supporting the criminals Acorn as a liar lawyer.
Obama the Islamic Messiah did not look like a cool Islamic Messiah yesterday as he was embarrassed by McCain about his terrorist friends Bill Ayres, the anti-Semitic and radical Islamic Louis Farrakhan who calls him the messiah, the racial pastor Jeremiah Wright who curse the American people and the Whites every single day during twenty years as barrack’s mentor and Obama fiend Rashid Khalidi the PLO Islamic terrorist of Arafat among others.
Clearly Barack lied about somebody of the crowd calling “Kill Barack Obama” which was found to be a big lie and a new racial tactic of Barack Obama to portray himself as victim of the Whites like Jeremy Wright false racial attacks.
Obama lost it ‘big time’ and the money that is flowing to his pockets from Saudi Arabia and Iranian regimes while the Bush failed administration and the FBI is giving him a ‘pass’ will not purchase him the presidency as the American people despise the deceitful Islamic Messiah Barack Obama.
The American people realized yesterday that the Islamic rooted Barack Obama works for the interest of the Islamic world and will bring to the new holocaust to the Jews with the Iranian nukes and dirty bombs that he ‘discuss’ with Ahmadinajad, who has the same ideas about the fate of the Jewish land.

Obama was so calm and poised during the debate... I thought McCain was going to explode at a certain point. He was so tensed and fired up lol, it was great. The question when the commentator asked if your running mate was a better choice then your opponents, McCain did not make one point that she was qualified to be PRESIDENT of the United States. Who cares if she's nice, who cares if she's a hockey mom. The question is Is she qualified?. Palin sucks and he knows it

Just pulled up the job posting for the VPOTUS, and have to say, you're wrong. Under "REQUIREMENTS" it clearly states:

REGUIREMENTS
- Hockey Mom
- Reformer
- Maverick who can get all mavericky
- Must have supported seceding from the U.S. at some point in the past
- Must be able to abuse power
- Preference will be given to those with Joe Six Pack experience

And by the way.....anyone seen/heard from Palin lately?

Anyone?

Anyone?

She's pulled Cheney's ol' disappearing act on us. Let's get Couric to investigate. I don't think Palin ever got back to her with those answers she promised to get her during Couric's interview.

CBS is still working on deciphering the cryptic answers she did actually give, trying to figure out what the hell she said.

A debate between two of two different races is always the more lively debate then it is even better you toss in two different political parties it gets even better.

Debates involving the same party, same gender, or different party different gender are usually just a public BS stage show since they are all in the brotherhood of politicians so as to not step on each others toes but Obama and McCain have none of the restrictions found in the unwritten rules of political schmoozing doesn't apply to a separate party/separate race debate.

They don't have a problem being up front about things because under these conditions they have no political or personal motivation to not step on each others toes like it would be two of the same race or two of the same party or two of the same race but different party.

If it isn't two races/two parties or two races/same party, the whole scene is just protectionist politics because they are not willing to be up front, they have the brotherhood that doesn't allow them to rat each other out.

None of this applies to Obama and McCain.

Not to mention that Obama, regardless if I approve of him or not, is kicking McCain's a$$ all over the place.
