"THE sleep has been long and deep. In 2005 Harvard University produced more scientific papers than 17 Arabic-speaking countries combined. The world’s 1.6 billion Muslims have produced only two Nobel laureates in chemistry and physics. Both moved to the West: the only living one, the chemist Ahmed Hassan Zewail, is at the California Institute of Technology. By contrast Jews, outnumbered 100 to one by Muslims, have won 79. The 57 countries in the Organisation of the Islamic Conference spend a puny 0.81% of GDP on research and development, about a third of the world average. America, which has the world’s biggest science budget, spends 2.9%; Israel lavishes 4.4%."

Science is unislamic.

Professor Alfred Kroner is one of the world's well-known geologists. He is a Professor of the Department of Geosciences, University of Mainz, Mainz, Germany. He said, "Thinking where Muhammad came from .. I think it is almost impossible that he could have known about things like the common origin of the universe, because scientists have only found out within the last few years with very complicated and advance technological methods that this is the case." (From 'This is the Truth'[video]). Also he said, "Somebody who did not know something about nuclear physics fourteen hundred years ago could not, I think, be in a position to find out from his own mind, for instance, that the earth and the heavens had the same origin."

I am sorry to see you are in such a deep sense of denial.
Are you a neurotic hatemonger Hindu, Christian or Yiddish?

Here is an American who embraced Islam. If you have any guts, please read what he has to say:
MUHAMMAD ALEXANDER RUSSEL WEBB
(1846 - 1916)

Books and E-Books
On Muslim History and Civilization

The following is Muhammad Webb's account of his journey to Islam as reported in the abridged version of "Islam - Our Choice" published by Begum Aisha Bawani Wakf, Karachi, 1970.

I have been requested to tell you why I, an American, born in a country which is nominally Christian, and reared under the drippings, or more properly perhaps the driveling, of an orthodox Presbyterian pulpit, came to adopt the faith of Islam as my guide in life.

I might reply promptly and truthfully that I adopted this religion because I found, after protracted study, that it was the best and only system adapted to the spiritual needs of the humanity. And here let me say that I was not born as some boys seem to be, with a fervently religious strain in my character. When I reached the age of twenty, and became practically my own master, I was so tired of the restraint and dullness of the Church, that I wandered away from it and never returned to it...

Fortunately I was of an enquiring turn of mind - I wanted a reason for everything, and I found that neither laymen nor clergy could give me any rational explasm and monads (explanation of this faith), and yet not one of them could tell me what were mysterious or that they were beyond my comprehension.

About eleven years ago I became interested in the study of Oriental religions... I read Mill and Locke, Kant, Hegel, Fichte, Huxley, and many other more or less learned writers discoursing with a great show of wisdom concerning protoplasm and monads, and yet not one of them could tell me what the soul was or what became of it after death...

I have spoken so much of myself in order to show you that my adoption of Islam was not the result of misguided sentiment, blind credulity, or sudden emotional impulse, but it was born of earnest, honest, persistent, unprejudiced study and investigation and an intense desire to know the truth.

The essence of the true faith of Islam is resignation to the will of God [Allah] and its corner stone is prayer. It teaches universal fraternity, universal love, and universal benevolence, and requires purity of mind, purity of action, purity of speech and perfect physical cleanliness. It, beyond doubt, is the simplest and most elevating form of religion known to man.

Did anybody give this Muslim Matematician a Nobel Prize yet?

Who invented algebra?

Algebra was invented by the Muslim mathematician Al-Khwarizmi in the book he wrote in 820. Algebra is the Arabic word (aljabr) for "equation", and the word "algorithm" comes from the author's name, Al-Khwarizmi. He is rightly known as "the father of Algebra".
The word "algebra" is named after the Arabic word "al-jabr" from the title of the book [al-Kitāb al-muḫtaṣa r fī ḥisāb al-ğabr wa-l-muqābala',(The book of Summary Concerning Calculating by Transposition and Reduction), a book written by the Muslim mathematician, Muhammad ibn Mūsā al-Khwārizmī in 820. The word Al-Jabr means "reunion. In fact, many ancient civilizations developed some sort of algebraic methods of solving problems, as far back as the Babylonians, Diophantus of Alexandria and the Indian mathematicians such as Brahmagupta, but Al-Khwarizmi is considered by many to be the "father of algebra" because some of his techniques on solving quadratic equations are still in use today. He was the first to solve equations using general methods. He solved the linear indeterminate equations, quadratic equations, second order indeterminate equations and equations with multiple variable.
J. J. O'Conner and E. F. Robertson wrote in the MacTutor History of Mathematics archive:
Al-Khwarizmi's algebra is regarded as the foundation and cornerstone of the sciences. In a sense, al-Khwarizmi is more entitled to be called "the father of algebra" than Diophantus because al-Khwarizmi is the first to teach algebra in an elementary form and for its own sake, while Diophantus is primarily concerned with the theory of numbers.

The exception proves the rule.

Islam of itself is opposed to real Science. That a few Muslims got it right is not the norm.

I I dont know why chritians are afraid of muslims. I Think Quran is only holy book which is challenging the bible for its errors in science. chritians and some western medias trying to maline islam,at the same time islam is sreading to fast in western coutries.acoording to bible jesus never came to form a religion and followers of him. if sameone says it he as to proove himself as a christian acoordong to mark last chapter if anybody takes poison in my name he will be alive. can anybody try this.means there is no chritianity. todays chrtians are not followers of jesus they follow paul apostile. thats why they belong to paulnity.muslims are perfactly following jesus they are following the commendements which jesus says to follow according to bible .as per the science if chritians schoolars didnt understand the lauguage of quran what can muslims do.however mohammed was a illetrate but he can say today bigbang theory which mentioned in quran before 1400 years ago. how will a baby forms in mothers womb day by day is perfactly mentioned .however about pheros deadbody in quran says i will keep the dead body of pheros till last day of the world this body was found in recent year but there are so many proofs that quran is perfect holy book.so face the challenge of quran. first try to understand the launguage of of quran.

What makes you think Christians are afraid of Muslims? We have been kicking Muslims in the butt since the 8th. century.

And as for errors in the Bible, just take a look at the inconsistent and plagiarized, mis-reconstruction, mess the prophet made of the Bible and Torah.

You are vainly attempting to post your Islamic propaganda to people who know better.

It's funny how muslims go all crazy when someone supposedly insults Mohammed...and then they go out and do it themselves! If there is one thing that does not make sense, it is the claim that Mohammed was an illiterate. If he was, why would he have been urging his followers to learn how to read and write? How could he have been involved in trading if he did not know how to read and write?

And finally, if you translate "ummy" or its variants to "illiterates", the koran is even more nonsensical than it already is. As pointed out by actual scientists, the koran refers to Mohammed and others as those who were not following an Abrahamic religion at that time.
PRASAD wrote:

The idea that the koran describes the big bang theory is a very recent one. If the koran is so clear and so correct on its facts, why did it take a *christian* priest to propose the big bang theory, less than 100 years ago? The concept of the koran describing the big bang theory also requires a significant interpretation of the description.
PRASAD wrote:

Perfectly?!? Again this requires a significant and rather "free" interpretation. In reality the koran just repeats what was already described hundreds of years earlier by Galen and those after him.

Sigh, religious zealots, their scripture and science...

The most important contribution of the Islamic mathematicians was the development of algebra; combining Indian and Babylonian material with the Greek geometry to develop algebra.
Seems muslims stole Algebra from hindus, babylonians & Greeks. Just as they stole their religion from judiasm. And to talk about everything coming from one place as islamic is another lie. That idea originated in Hinduism & pagan religions 1000s of years before Muhammad stole Islam.
Islam stole everything and gave it an arabic name. Even things they hate such as alcohol is an arabic word which proves that muslims are liars. The islamic religion even encourages lies or as muslims call it:taqiyya or kitman

Read up on Hindus, Tao, buddhism and other mystic religions. Have you not read The Tao of Physics by Fritjof kapra? This shows how eastern religions are close to modern science. To claim it is in the Koran with their angels and talking gods is frankly absurd. Islam is a second hand religion with a third rate prophet. Islam came from a cave. It is the religion of the Neanderthal

"At the heart of the matter is Mr. Capra's methodology — his use of what seem to me to be accidental similarities of language as if these were somehow evidence of deeply rooted connections.

Thus I agree with Capra when he writes, "Science does not need mysticism and mysticism does not need science but man needs both." What no one needs, in my opinion, is this superficial and profoundly misleading book."

- Jeremy Bernstein

"The Tao of Physics was completed in December 1974, and the implications of the November Revolution one month earlier that led to the dramatic confirmations of the standard-model quantum field theory clearly had not sunk in for Capra (like many others at that time). What is harder to understand is that the book has now gone through several editions, and in each of them Capra has left intact the now out-of-date physics, including new forewords and afterwords that with a straight face deny what has happened. The foreword to the second edition of 1983 claims, "It has been very gratifying for me that none of these recent developments has invalidated anything I wrote seven years ago. In fact, most of them were anticipated in the original edition," a statement far from any relation to the reality that in 1983 the standard model was nearly universally accepted in the physics community, and the bootstrap theory was a dead idea ... Even now, Capra's book, with its nutty denials of what has happened in particle theory, can be found selling well at every major bookstore. It has been joined by some other books on the same topic, most notably Gary Zukav's The Dancing Wu-Li Masters. The bootstrap philosophy, despite its complete failure as a physical theory, lives on as part of an embarrassing New Age cult, with its followers refusing to acknowledge what has happened."

Obviously you have not read any biographies of Prophet Muhammad -- who he was, his missions, and his accompolishments. I recommend you to read Michael A. Hart's: A Ranking of the 100 Most Influential Persons in History, where he roughly says that his choice of Prophet Muhammad as the foremost person to top the list might be argued and even rejected by some, but he defended it by saying "He is the only person in history who is supremely successful at both secular and religious levels". The Age of Enlightenment really started in the Muslim world well before it spread into Europe as your celebrated Renaissance, which I as a Muslim partake to celebrate pride and glory. The amazing discoveries and inventions by Muslim scholars in the field of mathematics, algebra, trigonometry, metallurgy, astronomy, chemistry, biology, navigation, to name a few, speak volumes of their intellectual genius well before the seat of learning shifted to Europe. Muslims have every reason to feel envious of the intellectual and technological progress of the West today, but please DO NOT sink in your ignorance to deny that it was the Muslim Arab scholars who preserved, expanded and transmitted knowledge from Cordova and Andalucia (of Spain today) to the rest of Europe. The intellectual malaise affecting the Muslim world then (remember the vast Ottoman Empire?)and now is pretty much their internal problem, inasmuch as the onslaught of Western colonialism (Portuguese, Dutch, British, French,Germans included)which caused the downfall of great centers of Muslim learning and civilizations. Even the mighty Roman Empire had its glory and downfall, as do Muslim empires. Do you get it? Let us be more rational in presenting our views. Peace to you man. I can't heap scorn and abuse at anybody who is honestly ignorant or ignorantly honest!
