Do we need further proof of the RCC's total disregard for women? Saving the mother was unimportant even though she had other kids to care for and she wasn't having an ELECTIVE abortion--and excommunicating a nun who helped save the woman's life?

Exactly why are we still allowing these fascists religious status?

Its about disregarding life, and that is what that hospital did, the bishop did the correct thing YEA! for the bishop!!!!!!!!!! The nun for the umpteenth time, disrespected life, she was involved in an abortion, something that is very evil.

So you, along with your pimp bishop, would prefer the sick pregnant woman die? YEA for that bish? Are you insane? Oh, wait, yes you are.

You are a stupid, hate-filled, brainwashed cultist moron. You are cheering for a pimp who would have preferred both woman & fetus die. You are a stench in God's nostrils.

Do women's lives mean absolutely nothing to you? Are we just fodder for birth? Every time I see attitudes like this, I actually DO wish I was male. I don't envy the penis. I envy the freedom that comes with it. Some men really don't appreciate how nice they have it and for those same men to try and push me around...how DARE they.

I am not a thing to be used.

You are soooo shallow, you just don't get it. The bishop values all life, even if the child is unborn. you and others are so selfish, you bow down to the gods of hedonism, narcissism, and materialism. All life is precious from conception to natural death.

The Catholic church needs to bring its archaic thinking up to 2010 realty from the Pope right on down the line.

Actually, the official line from the vatican is that the woman does NOT have to die if the pregnancy goes south.

More to the point--a hospital legally cannot withhold life-saving treatment regardless of religious affiliation.

You cannot value life if you would cause someone to die because their pregnancy doesn't work out. Valuing life would require one to make the best choice--denying treatment and having both the woman and the fetus die is the WORST possible choice. it's also illegal, so maybe it is best that this hospital sheds its affiliation with someone who demands that they break the law.

Amazing as it seems, this bishop is more extreme than the panzer pontiff; the vatican does condone abortion in case of saving the woman's life.

This bishop needs a good azz whoopin'. Perhaps a Louisville slugger bat across the forehead. Then send him to the town of Stepford, where he can live out the rest of his existence with the other braindead fools.

Liar.
This pimp bish would be just okily-dokily forcing this pregnant woman to die, along with the fetus. He, like you, is insane.

I wonder if pro"life" people are okay with being charged for murder if women die in childbirth as a result of withholding medically necessary abortions?

Shallow for valuing my own life over a fetus? Why doesn't it surprise me to see a Pro"life" person say that to a female?

Hardly warranted in this day with so much technology. They are even saving children in the womb through miraculous operations done pre natally. Women's lives are not as at stake as you would like everyone to believe.

The majority of abortions according to the Guttmacher institute are done because a woman doesn't want the child, period!

But there are situations that still require therapeutic abortions. PERIOD!

By the way, how does saying the word "period" actually help your argument? I notice a lot of people doing this (on both sides) and it's really just annoying...like a fly buzzing in my face. It doesn't make anyone's argument stronger. It just shows that they refuse to compromise and are thus a closed book.

No.

Reality is reality. It does not change because it is "2010". If you don't agree you have every right to NOT be Catholic. Meanwhile, I will continue supporting my archaic 2000 year old Church and I invite everyone to take a look at doing the same.
