First Baptist Church buys Hotel Upson

The day this beautiful building with so many memories for the residents of this community and beyond is torn down will be a day of great sadness. How could anyone with a conscience destroy such beauty? Will the community allow this destruction?

I does seem a shame to destroy this old building, you would think that the church leaders would try to balance the church's building needs with preserving the culture and history of this community by making sacrifices and remodeling this old building to as close as possible fit their needs.
It would be more costly but future generations would appreciate the church's dedication to the culture and history of the community.
