Sid Haton, Gardner's band director, dies
#1 Oct 3, 2008
Sid worked with my husband at the University of Oregon in 1997. He was the ultimate Southern Gentleman. Always soft-spoken and polite, extremely talented and intelligent, a joy to be around. We miss him sorely. My husband enjoyed an instant friendship with him and admired him greatly. They remained in contact off and on through the years, and Sid arranged music for My husband's marching bands recently. We last spent time with Sid in Boise, shortly before his marriage. We were glad to hear of his marriage to Sidney and are glad he had this happiness before he was called up.
