There are 3 comments on the The Catholic Sun Phoenix story from May 2, 2012, titled Speakers examine controversies over collision of art, religious imagery. In it, The Catholic Sun Phoenix reports that:

The relationship between art and the sacred is an unsolved problem of culture that exposes contradictions among society's less-than-consistent moral, religious and political ideologies, according to speakers at an April 25 forum at Jesuit-run Fordham University.

If "god" is powerful enough to create the universe, then it should be powerful enough to deal directly with those who criticize, mock or disparage religion. It doesn't need rabid believers to act on its behalf.

All the whining and moaning is coming from the rabidly religious, but I don't hear any coming from the "god" itself.

So why doesn't "god" do it, if "god" is so powerful? There are only two reasons:

(1) The alleged "god" isn't offended - it could act, but chooses not to.

(2) All "gods" are equally mythical and don't exist.

The rabidly religious aren't "defending god", they are fascists who want a theocracy where the mass murder of non-adherents is legalized. Those who whine about and bellyache about Robert Mapplethorpe are as murderous as the muslims who rioted over some innocuous Dutch cartoons.

Even money says my quote is censored, that the blog owner is afraid of addressing a valid point.

If I may, allow me to add a thought. The Bible is overflowing with examples of this almighty god smiting this, and killing that, and getting directly involved with humanity. In the case of fortytwo kids making fun of a bald guy, he not only kills them, but rather then just strike them dead, he uses a bear and has them ripped apart(One can only assume that this was the fastest bear in the universe, or the slowest, dumbest, children in all of history). Anyway, you have to wonder why the sudden indifference to all of the nastiness now.
Some will say it's all Jesus' fault, and I say bullshit. Right is right, and wrong is wrong. To stand by now and allow all the evil in the world free reign indicates that this god is just another myth, or incredibly evil. I'm going with the myth.

Religion's ploy is to invent a God who is responsible for everything the religion tells its believers to do.

Since we're caught up debating a God that isn't really there, we don't really achieve much, as the believers are brainwashed.

All of this meaningless conversation takes focus away from the very real people who are propagating the cult's lies and misinformation about atheism.
