Sarah, no we are not cheap, we are broke. Husband was laid of by cracker barrel, 3 kids to feed, medicine to buy, utility bills, bank payments, etc. This city has spent like a drunk sailor. Mayor Craighead needs to take a pay cut. We need to cut police force by half. Yesterday saw 5 cop cars just cruising main street, within 5 minutes. They need to be in the projects. Cut spending, do not raise taxes. Wake up, we are in a recession.

I agree with Dee on the surface there seems to be a awful lot of police crusing Main Street and not where crimes are being commited, and the same with the fire department, you see them at all different places all thru the day. And it sounds like the Mayor Philllp Craighead and maybe some of his cronies don't have to take their trash to the curb, I do or it don't get picked up

Buhler Huddelston and Warmath have been fighting craighead and the other 3 members of the city counncil. They always voting agaist the taxes and increases, Buhler has said time after time the city should use the money from the sale of the electric dept. I agree with him and he is right when he says that money belongs to the tax payers.

Craighead wants a 14% sewer rate increase, a 14% water rate increase and a tax increase on top of that. He also wanted to do a trash pick up fee while he was at it. He is after our money ( in more ways than one) But here is a new low in his strategy... he is now wanting to do a freeze for low income seniors,,,What changed Mayor? You said our taxes were too low and it would cost us all just pennies to raise them - yet you now are pandering for the senior vote with this new scheme?!?! Oh don't worry, it is ok to stick the young and old with the water and sewer rates because that will be no hardship...but be sure to raise taxes on all the rest of us so you can push us over the financial ledge. This guy never fails to amaze me! I think we have his number... "Let them eat cake" he says! We can't afford this guy!

Well I want to thank Huddleston, Buhler, and Warmath for voting against this water and sewer increase. Those other 3 along with the mayor are never going to get out of our backpockets, at least those 3 that voted against the increase are thinking about the people they serve.

Nope! when is government going to get it!~ We are broke, unemployed, and poor--- where are the jobs we should be recruting to Lebanon? Where is anything positive to help the citizens do better and make ends meet. It's like some of them... Craighead, and his followers don't care....oh but why should they? They live in luxusious homes, and have there hands in so many shady back scratching deals (realestate, and who's knows what else) Yea,... while talks about helping people, pats us on the back, his hand is stealing the little money we haved to live our of our back pocket. I am sick of it-- and him-- we can't afford to keep this Bozo in office, we'll be living in tents!... what other tax and fee increase is he going to want next? Keep your eye on how your money is spent too...you'll feel the same way.

Well there always a rodeo tax, how about a sidewalk tax? that would keep that scam going. then there's the give away money that makes him feel good. he puts his picture in the paper every other day giving away our money but wants more!

I am losing all hope. My husband can not find a job, even though he has a degree from UT, our kids need money for little things at school, and it is just a matter of time before losing the house. Thanks mayor Craighead, now we must cut off our water and take spit baths. Can the kids come up the hill and take a warm shower. Your a real piece of s... Gomer. We have no choice but getting a good city manager. Look west citizens, Mt. Juliet is booming and yes a city manager. Look south my friends, Murfreesboro is booming and look east, Cookville is booming, yes city managers. Look north, well Hartsville is just like Lebanon, a mayor that is breaking them. It is a no brainer, bring in Sargent Carter and whip Gomer into shape. Call your council and demand a city manager. It is our last hope. Till next time, on the road with my husband, trying to find a job.
