What art should pupils know by eighth-grade? Can you identify at least 80 art masterpieces by sight? A Concordia University Chicago professor says children should be able to identify at least that many by the end of eighth-grade and she's developed a downloadable learning tool to help teachers encourage a knowledge of art history at a young age.
Take a look at the list -it is a sad continuation of the euro-centric art already in the general art ed curriculum so many of us have been trying to augment. It is not advancing creative thought or a broader world view. too bad.
